Situated in it's own private grounds, La Musardiere is a luxury villa with stunning views of the local mountains. Here you can do as much or as little as you want. BBQs by the pool/hot tub, a game of boules absorbing the ambiance of the French lifestyle. Perfect! Or if you or your little ones feel the need to stretch those legs we even have our own mini mountain/forest to explore! There are many beautiful picnic spots along the River Buech, great to cool down on a hot summers day. We also, as FrenchTraxxx, offer activity holidays using La Musardiere, either Mountain Biking or Wild Water weekends, Skiing/Snowboarding or just fun in the snow breaks ! Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds.
Self catering prices are for exclusive use of the villa, pool and Jacuzzi. (max 12 people). Catered prices are based on 4 adults and 4 children per week (max 12 people) and includes b/b + 5 evenings meals wine/beer/soft drinks served with meals. Short or long weekend breaks are also available, catered or self-catered please contact us for details.
Changeover day
Saturday to Saturday (Sunday to Sunday in the Ski season to make the most of the cheap airlines) is preferable, arrival after 4pm departure by 10am, but this can be flexible, please contact us with any questions.

Linen and towels are included. Separate towels for the pool and hot tub. Property is cleaned for your arrival and can be cleaned during your stay as needed. Fresh towels/linen are readily available. |
Notes on accommodation
La Musardiere has central heating and an open log fire for the winter with fans available for the summer. We provide summer and winter duvets. The family bedroom is on the first floor together with bedroom 2 and bathroom 1. On the ground floor are the other three bedrooms and bathroom 2. The house and gardens are ideally suited for families. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any concerns. There are two large store cupboards ideal for ski boots, walking equipment, coats etc. We have a no smoking policy in the house and around the pool and hot tub.

Accessibility
The villa is suitable for people with mobility problems due to the fact that there is a bedroom with French doors, a bathroom and a wc on the ground floor. There are small steps to access the house from the drive/terrace. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any concerns.
Outside
Outside there is a large private garden with sunny terraces perfect for those long warm evenings. There is a family sized gas BBQ, table and chairs, well positioned wooden benches to soak up the sun in the morning, afternoon and evening. The heated pool is 8m x 4m with security cover when not in use. The hot tub (6 adults) is perfectly positioned to enjoy the views of the local mountains in privacy with easy access from the house. Magical first thing in the morning as the sun pops up over the mountain and just as magical in the candlelight!
Coast/Beach
The nearest beaches are approximately 2 hours drive south. It is a direct route with very little traffic with a choice of many great beaches along the Cote D'Azur. On route through Aix en Provence there is a large water park just off the motor way which is open all summer. There are many swimming lakes nearby with restaurants and shower facilities and the River Buech, just a short walk away, is ideal for picnics and swimming in its beautiful clear waters.
Skiing
There are a reported 30 ski resorts in this area, we're still trying to visit them all! The nearest village resort is just 20 minutes by car which is perfect for families, beginners and intermediates. It is a beautiful little resort amongst the pine trees with a friendly atmosphere. A little further afield, 30 mins, there is the larger resort of Joue du Loup which links up to Super Devoluy with over 100kms of pistes suitable for all tastes and abilities. There are many more village stations located approximately 1hour away with larger international resorts of Orcierres, Reallon, Pra Loup, Les Deux Alpes, Serre Chevalier and Risoul/Vars about a 2 hour drive. We can provide semi catered or fully catered holidays if required and will take you to and from the pistes at pre agreed times. If you need any help with booking lessons, ski passes or equipment we are happy to organise these for you. We are here to make your skiing holiday one of the best you've ever had!
Travel
Aspres sur Buech is centrally located between Lyon, Grenoble and Marseille airports and takes just under 2 hours. Also Chambery is just over 2 hours away. All have a choice or car hire companies. Slightly further away are Nice, Toulon, Avignon, Nimes, and Montpelier. To drive from Calais to Aspres takes between 8 - 10 hours depending on how many stops you make. You can travel by Eurostar or TGV to Grenoble or Valence where you can hire a car or we can arrange airport/station pick ups.
Distances
The village of Aspres sur Buech is just a 2 minute stroll away. There is a bakery, a butchers, post office, hairdressers, pharmacy, doctor, restaurant and local bar with terrace and a small, friendly supermarket. The town of Veynes is just 10 mins drive where there are banks, 2 large supermarkets, weekly market (Thurs). The nearest large towns are Gap and Sisteron (30-40 mins by car) with plenty of interesting shops, markets and restaurants.
Further details
The Haute Alpes is relatively undiscovered. It is a stunning region with a reported 300 days of sunshine a year. There is so much to do and see here, in fact you could holiday here in each season and still find something different to do. We live in the village so are on hand to help if you need us. We can organise activities for you eg rafting, canoeing, climbing, mountain bike guides, accrobranche (climbing through trees) skiing, snowboarding, lessons and equipment hire. Booking notes
30% non refundable deposit to secure booking. Balance due 8 weeks before start of holiday. A £400 security deposit is requested before or on arrival and is fully refundable less any breakages/damages etc.
