Le Pincement de Thym is a recently renovated French Longue Farmhouse set in beautiful rural countryside on the outskirts of the medieval village of Vouvant. Sleeping up to 9 people with a cot available and offering 250 sq.m. of spacious accommodation retaining original exposed beams and stonework. The property has its own ‘Spa Barn’ which houses a 6 person Jacuzzi and 6 person sauna, shower and relaxation area with hifi and surround sound, perfect to pamper yourself after a day out sightseeing. The village is one of the ‘Plus Beaux Villages de France’ with a couple of restaurants, cafés and bars, mini market, doctor and pharmacy, boulangerie, post office and tourist information office. The towns of Fontenay Le Comte with its Saturday market and La Chataignerie are just 10 mins away.

Changeover day
Normally Saturday to Saturday - however outside of peak season this may be flexible. Arrival after 4pm and departure by 10am

| Bedrooms: | Bedrooms 1, 2, 3 have double beds. Bedroom 4 is situated on the ground floor with a huge 6ft bed. Bedrooms 1 + 4 are very large & equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, mini fridge, hairdryer and can accommodate an additional single bed or cot. |
| Bathrooms: | Upstairs: large bathroom with claw foot slipper bath, separate shower, wash basin, toilet, bidet and flat screen TV. Downstairs: Large en suite to bedroom 4 with shower, wc and beautiful travertine basin. |
| Kitchen: | Luxury kitchen with stone walls + vaulted ceiling. Well equipped with 2 ovens, gas hob, microwave, American style fridge/freezer, dishwasher, flat screen TV & wine rack. A split level dining area seats 8 and is a wonderful area for relaxed entertaining. |
| Living Rooms: | Spacious dual aspect room with original beams, large stone fireplace and 3 sofas. 42 inch plasma TV with satellite, DVD player and stereo. |
| Other: | The property has exclusive use of its own indoor spa barn just a few steps from the house. The facilities include a 6-person Jacuzzi, 6 person sauna and a shower. Towels are supplied for this area. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
All bed linen and towels are included however cot bedding is not supplied. Fresh towels and bed linen are available for stays of longer that 1 week. Property cleaned on departure. |

Accessibility
Bedroom 4 is located on the ground floor, however please note there is a step up into the en suite bathroom.
Outside
The Gite has its own private entrance and ample parking. Situated in over 6 acres of land with a spa barn housing a large Jacuzzi and sauna of which you have exclusive use. There is a large sunny and secluded decked area with BBQ and outdoor dining area. Plenty of shade is available beneath trees and parasols. Bicycles, picnic set, beach equipment and sun loungers are supplied. The owners also have pet chickens in a small orchard and you are welcome to collect eggs for your breakfast!
Coast/Beach
The coast of the Vendee and Poitou Charentes is well known for its good weather and its fine sandy beaches which are warm, shallow and very clean. There are many to choose from about an hour away and some have designated naturist areas. Le Tranche is good for surfing and has a surf school during high season. Ile de Re is just an hour away.
Golf
Award winning golf course 40 mins away at La Roche sur Yon.
Travel
Nearest airports are La Rochelle and Poitiers within an hour and Nantes 1 hour 15 mins. St Malo and Roscoff and Caen about 4 hours. Use of a car is recommended.

Vouvant 2 mins, Mervent 5 mins, Fontenay 10 mins, La Rochelle 45 mins and Nantes 1 hour.
Further details
The gite is in the south of the Vendee, renowned for its unique microclimate offering as many sunny days as the French Riviera! Vouvant is a pretty medieval village and has all the ingredients of a picture postcard; medieval ramparts, the Melusine Tower and the church, which is a classic example of Poitou Romanesque and has an impressive sculpted portal. The village is also known as ‘The village of Painters’ and is home to many artists with their workshops and galleries. Horse riding, canoes and pedaloes are available close by as is the Pissotte vineyard and Mervent forest. Puy de Fou, Futurescope, and Marais Poitevin are less than an hours drive. The Loire valley and Cognac regions are close enough for a day trip.
Booking notes
£200 deposit is required per week booked. The balance is due 8 weeks prior to arrival. A security deposit cheque of £200 is required on arrival and will be returned by post at the end of your stay.
