Not only can we offer golf at one of the best courses in France 5 mins drive away, there is also cycling, walking, riding, canoeing or taking a boat trip down the Dordogne River.

Changeover day
Pre de l'Aubier is available Saturday to Saturday with arrival after 4pm and departure at 10am. Linen will be changed weekly for parties staying more than one week.

Le Petit Pre was designed with the discerning couple in mind. There is a large open plan living area with a double bedroom and separate shower room on the mezzanine level. The kitchen is fully equipped with electric oven, hob, microwave and washing machine. A large dining table easily seats 6 and there is more space for al fresco dining on the outside terrace. The lounge area offers UK TV, DVD and HiFi. There is use of a swimming pool, although this could be shared with other guests accommodated on a bed and breakfast basis. |

There are 4 Bed and Breakfast or 'chambres d'hotes' bedrooms each of which is en-suite furnished to a high standard and offering views out over open countryside. The ground floor bedroom has a kingsize bed and the three bedrooms on the first floor can be set up with super kingsize or twin beds whichever you prefer. Breakfast is served either out on the terrace or if it is cool then inside in the dining room. We offer table d'hotes meals every evening, four courses, made with local seasonal produce served with wine for 25 euros per person. |

Notes on accommodation
Pre de l'Aubier operates as both gite and bed and breakfast accommodation, therefore both the 4-bedroomed and 1-bedroomed properties are not available together as the owners also live on site. The property is fully centrally heated and Pre de l'Aubier also has an open fire for the winter months. Surrounded by open fields and standing in grounds of nearly an acre, there is plenty of space for children to enjoy themselves in a safe environment. We are situated 4km from the village of Loubes Bernac where you will find a small shop. There are several excellent restaurants in the area, one within walking distance.
Accessibility
The property is equidistant from the towns of Ste Foy la Grande, Eymet and Duras all 15 minutes drive away. We are 25 minutes from Bergerac airport and an hour and a quarter from Bordeaux.
The ground floor bedroom is suitable for people with reduced mobility, however the house is not suitable for wheelchairs.
Outside
The gardens surrounding the property offer nearly an acre of open space. There is a terrace for both properties, barbecue and large pool with Roman steps. You will find plenty of sun loungers and other outside furniture, should you just wish to find a shady corner to relax with a good book. When booking Pre de l'Aubier as a gite you will have exclusive use of the swimming pool.
Coast/Beach
The beach at Arcachon can be reached in just over an hour and a half by car and is well worth the trip. The Dune du Pilat is a 'must see' if you are going to the coast.
There is also a swimming lake 10 minutes drive away from the house which has a beach.
Golf
We are only 5 mins drive from the prestigious Chateaux des Vigiers golf club. We can also arrange golf at Chateau les Merles just outside Bergerac, where guests of Pre de l'Aubier benefit from a discount. There are also several other courses in the area for you to try.
Travel
Bergerac airport is 25 minutes drive away.
Bordeaux airport is an hour and a quarter.
The channel ports are 9 hours drive away, but on easy uncongested roads.
If you are driving from Paris you would still need to allow 6 or 7 hours.

For gite guests a welcome pack is provided with wine, tea, coffee, bread, croissants, cheese, jam, fresh fruit and a few other necessities and local specialities. If you are joining us on a bed and breakfast basis and only wish to bring hand luggage, we would be more than happy to provide toiletries at a small charge, please let us know beforehand.
