Les Hirondelles and Les Mésanges are situated opposite each other, in the picturesque small village of Ozolles (which contains a grocery, selling fresh bread daily, a post office, and a bar and restaurant). The village is 5 miles or so from the pretty market town of Charolles, which contains supermarkets and a range of other facilities. Ozolles is located in the depths of the Burgundy countryside yet close to essential facilities and tourist attractions. The area boasts a lush landscape of rolling hills, valleys and woods. Close by are the wine-growing areas of the Maconnais, including the celebrated Pouilly Fuissé villages, the Beaujolais, and the renowned Cote D’Or. The area also contains a stunning array of Romanesque village churches, dating mainly from the 12th century, and a number of intimate and sensitively restored chateaux. Lyon and Beaune are essential destinations, for their impressive buildings, beautiful streetscapes and fine restaurants.

Les Hirondelles (Sleeps 6)

Les Hirondelles (sleeps up to 6) is a pretty 19th century cottage. The large comfortable living room boasts an attractive oak beamed ceiling and a large built-in wood-burning stove. It leads into the sunny conservatory kitchen, with gas hob and electric cooker, fridge, dining table and a range of cupboards. Adjoining the kitchen is a utility area containing a microwave oven and washing machine, which accesses the modern shower room, with shower, handbasin and w.c. The cottage’s ground floor also has one of the property’s double bedrooms.
An open spiral staircase in the living room leads to two large, bright bedrooms, the first containing two single beds, and the second a large double bed. One passes through the first to reach the second.
The large south-facing private garden contains a shaded terrace, sun beds and barbecue.
Les Hirondelles has easy access to the heated swimming pool which is in the garden of Les Mésanges.

Les Mesanges (Sleeps 4)

Les Mésanges (sleeps up to 4) has a large dining kitchen containing hob and electric oven, washing machine, dishwasher, and microwave oven, with wood-burning stove.
The large bright living room opens onto the large rear garden, to which it is connected by a covered balcony and external staircase.
At first floor level, accessed by an open spiral staircase running from the kitchen, are the shower room (containing shower, handbasin and w.c.), and the two sunny double bedrooms.
The property’s large garden has an attractive open outlook along the valley of the River Ozolette. As well as its cherry, plum and apple trees, it contains a terrace with table, chairs and barbecue.

Accessibility
Because Ozolles is situated on a hillside there are changes in level in both properties which mean that they are unfortunately not suited to wheelchair users

Outside
Both properties are supplied with barbecues, sunbeds and outdoor tables and chairs. The heated swimming pool, constructed in 2005, and lying beyond Les Mésanges garden, is set within a generous poolside lawn, surrounded on three sides by fields.

Travel
Ozolles is 450 miles from Calais via France’s less busy motorways and avoiding Paris. Low cost flights (with car hire) are possible to Lyon and Geneva. Eurostar from Waterloo connects (via Lille or Paris) with the TGV to Macon or Le Creusot – 30-40 minutes drive away. Car hire is available at both stations.

Charolles, which has a range of facilities including large open air swimming pool, supermarkets, shops and weekly market is 10km away; La Clayette with its beautiful chateau and similar facilities 14 km. The historic towns of Cluny and Paray-le-Monial are close by.
