Stone built house, very private, located in a quiet hamlet/village in the countryside. Nearest shops and facilities 3 miles/20 minute bike ride through country lanes and minor roads. The village is surrounded by fields, ideal for walking and cycling (some bikes are provided) and exploring north and south Brittany coastlines. French windows in the living room and the kitchen open onto the terrace and garden, with extensive lawned gardens and wooded garden area beyond, leading to our own boules pitch and a large workshop/playbarn providing in-door activities including PSII consol + games/28"TV, pub table football game, dartboard and table tennis. Notes on accommodation
Note for parents: because of the situation of the stairs, they cannot be fitted with stair gates and supervision of children in this respect needs to be considered. TV room/bedroom 4 has UK Satellite and a VCR and DVD player and a 32" LCD TV which will take games consol and Laptop input
There is no TV in the living/dining room. Internet WiFi.
Accessibility
The house has dog leg stairs to the first floor and is unfortunately is generally unsuitable for wheelchairs etc. Contact the owners for advice - email below.
Outside
Very private south facing terrace and gardens. Outside furniture and barbecue for those idyllic, warm evenings or breakfast in the morning sun. If you happen to be relaxing under the shade of the apple trees, and the fruit is ripe, you are very welcome to help yourself. South and west overlooks fields and a small wood. East is bounded by a substantial mixed Laurel and conifer hedge separating our barn and garden from the neighbouring small cottage.
There is a huge double height former workshop/garage, now equipped with a PSII games consol/games/28" TV, pub style table football game and five mountain bikes of various sizes, which we are happy for guests to use. Badminton can be set up inside or outside on the lawn. Additionally, we now have a new full size table tennis table and darts board. There is a tumble drier here for the days when you can't hang out the washing.
New - platform/tree house with lockable access ladder for parental supervision.
Coast/Beach
Halfway between north and south Britanny coasts - around a 45-65 mins drive to Rennes/Dinard airports and St Malo sea port.
45-55mins. drive to north or south beaches. Most of these routes go through country roads, almost free of traffic. We discovered some charming villages this way.

Travel
Dinard and Rennes airports are around 45-55 minutes drive - cars can be hired there. Approx within 2.5 hours drive from Caen. 1 hour from St Malo. Approx 5.0 hours drive from Calais (plus break).

Travelling around France for more than ten years, we have tried to incorporate observations and experiences that we feel will add to the enjoyment of our guests. We stay at our house as much as possible and take great pride in our home, and your holiday home. We are not on site when guests are in residence(believing that guests don't want to feel 'watched over' by owners), however, we have a local contact (as well as direct access to us via. telephone) who can deal with any questions or problems for you.
