This fantastic area is for sports lovers and people seeking a cultural and arts journey. There are a number of ski resorts within 30 minutes of the house including - Cauterets and Hautacam, rafting, canoeing and kayaking in Argelès-Gazost, many walking and cycling tracks, and horse riding at Ouzous. The Tour de France passes nearby at Hautacam. There is a sports complex in Argelès-Gazost with tennis courts, swimming pools and trout fishing. There are many historical sites and thermal spas to enjoy during either winter or summers. This is one of the undiscovered treasures of France. Situated at the base of the French Haute Pyrenees within the village of Salles-Argeles, 'Le Belvedere' is the perfect place for whatever event or activity holiday you are planning – or just for total relaxation in a stunning setting. 'Le Belvedere' gives you a perfect base for; canyoning, hiking, cycling, skiing, exploring the area’s history, or as a pilgrimage to the historic location of Lourdes.

Accessibility
Access to the bedrooms is only via the main staircase so people with mobility issues may find this accommodation unsuitable.
Outside
The pool, terrace and BBQ area is yours to enjoy! The private pool has decking with deck chairs available for your use and the terrace area is fitted with a barbeque to enjoy those wonderful summer evenings and spectacular views of the mountains.
Spring at Le Belvedere is truly breathtaking. The garden comes alive with colour and fragrance that lasts throught summer. Autumn offers up a spectacular display of olds, reds and browns, while winter transforms Le Belvedere into a beautiful snow covered hideaway. Any time of the year is truly magical.
Coast/Beach
For surfers you would head to Biarritz or San Sebastian in Spain (approximately 1.5 - 2 hours drive). Some of the best beaches in Europe are located in San Sebastian.
Skiing
There are far too many ski stations in the area to list here however we have listed three excellent stations nearby.
Cauterets - Pont D'Espagne 1850m 2450m (30kms) Alpine and Cross Country.
Cauterets is a village resort offering vast areas for all gliding sports at the Cirque du Lys (facilities for snowboarders, beginners and children). Here you can choose your favourite sport and enjoy it at your own pace.
Hautacam – 1500m – 1800m (20kms) Alpine and Cross Country.
The ski resort of Hautacam is situated in the Argelès-Gazost area of the Hautes-Pyrénées department in the Pyrénées region. The lift served area extends from 1500 metres to 1800 metres.
Gavarnie-Gedre – 1,650m 2,400m Alpine and Cross Country.
Among spectacular mountain scenery, Gavarnie Gedre offers families a widely varying ski area, with the longest green run in the Pyrenees as well as runs for experienced skiers. Cross-country skiing at the foot of the Cirque de Gavarnie is free.

By road: Auto Route A64 exit Tarbes west RN21 direction Lourdes and then Argelès-Gazost. Google Map and Route planning. Train: The closest train station is located in Lourdes (20km from the house). There is a TGV from Paris to Lourdes daily via Toulouse. It takes approximately 7 hours. Air: Pau Airport (56kms) - Flights available to Paris. Tarbes Airport (27kms) - Flights available to Paris.

To make a reservation please contact us advising of preferred dates and we will confirm availability immediately. Payment of the deposit of 20% can be made via credit card or TT to our bank account. Final payment is due 6 weeks prior to booking. A refundable security deposit of 500 Euros to be paid upon arrival to the managers.

Le Belvedere and Salles Argeles are just amazing. Have holidayed in a few privately owned hoemsteads and although stunning, never felt entirely at home. Not the case with le Belvedere. Loved the fact that everything is so easily accessible...local sites, supermarkets, restaurants etc. The locals are wonderful...helpful and friendly. Le Belveldere was AMAZING. An absolutely beautiful house! Beautifully decorated, fantastic facilites, great location for skiing and sight seeing. Great for day trips to San Sebastian or Carcasoone.
