Changeover day
Changeover day is normally Saturday except by arrangement. New guests to arrive after 4pm and depart by 10am on the last day unless by prior arrangement.

Notes on accommodation
The villa is beautifully open and airy and all downstairs rooms have patio doors to the terraces, garden and outside kitchen. Heating, if needed, is by separate electric heaters for each room, giving quick and variable heat, plus a log fire in the lounge for cosy nights in. Gentle steps into the pool, giving easy access. Pool alarm and medium-sized pretty garden for playing in, best suited to children aged 3+. Also, a walled hilly area behind the villa, great for older children to explore or even for an overnight fun camp.

Accessibility
There are a few steps down to the pool and a gentle slope with steps up from the car parking area to the front door. The main bedroom is on the ground floor with en-suite bathroom, other bedrooms are on the first floor. No wheelchair access. Steep lane down and up again from the village road.
Outside
The gardens are lovingly cared for by a local couple with a real eye for Mediterranean style and colour. You can enjoy the well-stocked gardens and views of the valley from three terraces, with cafe style tables. Overlooking the private 30' pool, there is a full outside kitchen with large gas barbecue, gas hob and fridge for evening dining and relaxing in the balmy climate. Seating for 8. Also terracotta-tiled dining table and seating for 6/8 outside the lounge with umbrella, views over the garden and hills. Loungers for 8 with comfy cushions. Quaint sun dial which doesn't tell the time - hence the villa name 'Temps Perdu'.
Coast/Beach
10 minute drive to nearest seafront for walking. Good sandy beaches at Nice, Juan les Pins and Antibes within 30 minute drive.

30 minutes' drive from Nice airport. Easy taxi access from the airport. Car is highly recommended.

10 minutes to the mainline train station with access to Nice, Monaco, Marseilles, Lyon and TGV to Paris. 20 minutes to Cannes, 15 minutes Antibes, 15 minutes historic Valbonne. Beautiful drives into the mountains.
Further details
Easy drive to the local supermarket at Valbonne; many small shops, pharmacies, wine cellars and excellent restaurants nearby. Biot is friendly, many shops speak English and the village hosts numerous arts festivities throughout the year. The weekly market is great for local produce and hand made gifts. Many attractions nearby to suit everyone: historic chateaux, wine tasting, art galleries and many glass makers in Biot to visit; children's water parks very near, sit on trains; shopping in Nice, Cannes, St Tropez; plus peaceful walks and fantastic drive to the mountains.

About the owner
We are Richard and Louise Coates, currently working in Dubai. We get to the villa whenever we can to see some green vistas, Mediterranean blue skies and traditional French villages. It is our intention to spend more time there and maybe relocate there in a few years' time, so we have furnished and decorated the house as a home not a rental. We have just completed a major refit of the kitchen,downstairs bathroom, upstairs bathroom and outside kitchen. We have a husband and wife team of French gardeners who lovingly tend the pots, palms and lawns and a great English manager, Nicola, who is always on hand with help and local knowledge.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We looked around the area at many places. All had something good about them but when we saw this one we knew it was just right for us - the views, the way the sun moves around the villa over the day so that there's always somewhere to sit out for meals and drinks, as well as shade, and the open, sunny layout of the living area.
Although you can see other houses, when you're relaxing on the terraces with a glass in hand, looking across the valley, it's really quiet and private. Located at the end of the tiny lane, there is absolutely no passing traffic, just the birds, cicadas and frogs at certain times of the year.
You may think the villa is really old as it has that charm. In fact it was built in 1987. Villa Temps Perdu is perfect for us - we hope it will be for you too.

There's even the train nearby if you want to go further - try Paris! Or you can just stay by the pool for days on end, popping down to the village for juicy fruit and mega croissants. Best to hire a car at the airport - you'll have to leave the villa sometime to see the sights
