Situated approximately 1 mile from the pretty village of Tremblay with its boulangerie, cafes and restaurants and within easy reach of the many picturesque attractions of Brittany. This location offers something for everyone: magnificent beaches for sun-worshippers, spectacular countryside for nature lovers It also offers some of the world's greatest wines, haute cuisine for gourmets, an abundance of culture for art lovers and tranquillity for the stressed. Each gite comes fully equipped, furnished with Breton antiques. Satellite TV and free WiFi internet access. Garden furniture and barbeques are provided and a three course evening meal is offered on request. Bread, croissants and delicious gateaux are delivered to the hamlet twice a week. Many board games. boules and badminton are available.

Kitchen with halogen hob and electric fan oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier and fully equipped for all your cooking requirements including cafetiere. Ironing board iron, clothes line outside and hoover. The lounge has a beautiful Breton style table and 8 chairs, comfy armchairs and sofa and a Godin wood burning stove. Satellite TV, DVD and wired internet access. There is a downstairs toilet and shower room. Upstairs bedroom 1 has 2 single beds. Bedroom 2 has a double bed, chest of drawers and hanging space. Bedroom 3 has 1 double bed and 1 single and hanging space. Separate toilet and sink. Welcome pack on arrival with essentials including homemade jam, milk tea and coffee and of course a bottle of wine. An evening meal can be served in your cottage on the day of your arrival. Freshly cooked food can also be ordered from our local Indian takeaway 5 minutes away with a children's menu on request. |

Notes on accommodation
Both cottages are centrally heated upstairs and the log burning fires will be lit before your arrival during the Winter months to ensure a warm welcome. Each cottage has a variety of board games and holiday reading to suit all ages. There are lawned areas for children to play on although children should be supervised at all times as whilst this is a quiet hamlet and the houses are off road the occasional car and tractor do pass by. Our French neighbours are very welcoming and their boys love to try out their English with visitors. The property is an ideal location for exploring and the English owners have an in depth knowledge of the area -they are also French speaking and live on the site. They will be available to help and advise. There are 5 other houses in the hamlet all owned by French so this is an ideal opportunity to experience 'the real French experience'.
Accessibility
As all the bedrooms are on the 1st floor these cottages are not suitable for wheelchair users.
Outside
Each cottage has its own garden furniture, private space and barbecue. There is also a garden across the country road looking over corn fields and containing a yet to be renovated bread oven. This is a tranquil area to sit during the evenings and watch the beautiful sunset. Our nearest town 5 minutes drive is Tremblay which has some attractive houses from the 11th century. Tremblay was the birthplace of botanist Rene Louiche-Desfontaines who set up a national botanic specimen collection in the Museum d' Histoire Naturelle. He introduced the cultivation of Durum wheat in to France in 1933. Tremblay erected a bust in his honour.
Coast/Beach
The property is ideally located for visiting the beaches of Normandy and Brittany- all within 30 mins. There are many stunning coastal villages including St. Suliac which is listed as one of the prettiest villages of Ille et Vilaine. Cancale the oyster capital of Europe is also only a 40 mins drive away. The famous medieval walled town of St. Malo overlooking a large harbour and beautiful sandy beach is only an hours drive. Mont St Michel is a magnificent spectacle only 30 mins drive away.
Golf
The golf courses of Des Ormes and Granville are within 40 mins drive.

Travel
45 mins from Rennes and Dinard airports both have low cost airline flights from the UK. The local ports are St Malo1 hour. Caen 2 hours. Cherbourg 2 hours.

Tremblay 3.5km. St.Brice en Cogles 5km. Pontorson 15km. Fougeres 15km. Mont St. Michel 25km. Cancale 40km.
Further details
The nearest village Tremblay with a Spar shop and numerous bars and restaurants is 5 mins drive away. St Brice en Cogles the nearest town with a very large supermarket, a variety of shops and a tourist office is 10 mins drive away. There are banks here with ATMs. Although all the amenities are close a car is essential.
Booking notes
Changeover day is Saturday. We ask that guests leave by 10 am. Guests may arrive by 4pm although this is flexible. £100 deposit is required on booking with the balance payable 6 weeks before the start date. A maid service is available for cleaning at the end of your stay at the cost of 50 euros. Payment can be made by Cheque. Linen is changed once a week and a reduction of 5% is made if you wish to bring your own bedding. Towels are provided at the cost of 5 euros per person.
