The apartment is located in the brand new development known as Chalet Whymper, located in the heart of Les Houches, about 150m from the Bellevue lift station. It is ideally situated for the Kandahar World Cup downhill race which takes place at the end of January and is very convenient for skiing and access to the rest of the village and valley. The apartment offers spacious, airy accommodation which has been completed and furnished to a high standard. The kitchen is well equipped and the balcony allows you to enjoy fabulous sunsets over the Aiguilles Vertes. The apartment is located on the first floor of the building with a large balcony and is accessed from either the garage or the front door by lift. There is a video entry phone, underfloor heating, TV and DVD player and it is tastefully decorated with comfortable furnishings, deep sofas and a fully equipped kitchen. The apartment has secure private underground car parking and a ski locker.

Changeover day
The prices are based on 7 nights’ accommodation from Sunday to Sunday with exclusive use of the apartment on a self catered basis.

Accessibility
The apartment can be accessed by the chalet's lift. There are no stairs in the apartment.
Outside
Balcony allows you to enjoy fabulous sunsets over the Aiguilles Vertes. It has a table and chairs for 4 people and a gas barbecue.
Coast/Beach
Clearly the Alps aren't within 10 minutes of the beach. However, during the summer a quick 15 minute drive will take you to Lac Du Passy. Here you can swim in a large warm fresh water lake, with fabulous views of Mont Blanc and the surrounding mountains. There is a small beach and large park surrounding the lake providing all the space you need to sunbathe, kick a ball or throw a frisbee. There is also a small cafe and a barbeque area. There is a 2 Euro per car charge to park.
Golf
The Alpine region offers some of the highest quality and most interesting golf courses in France. Spectacular scenery combined with accessible courses for all levels makes the Alpine region an attractive choice for a golfing holiday based in Les Houches.
Chamonix has an excellent golf course (designed by Robert Trent Jones Snr) which is located at the foot of the famous Drus mountain range at 1200m altitude. The course is very well maintained and also contains a practice range (26 positions, 6 covered) and a putting green. The course is open from May to November - cost is 41 euros - 60 per round depending on season and day of week.

Skiing
The ski area of Les Houches extends from an altitude of 950m to 1900m. From the summit one has a spectacular 360° view of the Mont-Blanc massive.
Skiing in Les Houches combines long descents through pine and larch forests within the view of spectacular peaks of the "Aiguilles de Chamonix".
Not surprisingly it is the location of regular international events and serves as the training ground for the French National Ski Team. By yourself or with the local ski schools, you will discover a varied choice of pistes for downhill, cross-country, surf, telemark or ski-jumping. It’s all here!
To enjoy the different mountain activities such as off-piste, don’t hesitate to hire a mountain or trekking guide.
However the skiing is not limited to Les Houches you have the whole of the Chamonix valley on your doorstep!
Travel
Les Houches is only 50 mins from Geneva airport, transfers can be arranged.
Car hire is not essential especially in the winter as the local bus service can transport you all around the valley. We would probably recommend a car for the summer as you may wish to visit further afield - Italy is only 10 mins away.

Booking notes
In order to reserve your accommodation we require a deposit (non refundable) which is 30% of the value of your reservation at the time of booking. The balance is due 8 weeks prior to arrival in resort. Upon receipt of the balance we will provide you with all the directions/contact details for your accommodation. A deposit of 250 euros, payable in cash or cheque, is required and will be returned at the end of your stay less any costs incurred due to damage, breakages and specialised cleaning.
