You can unwind by the pool or explore the many local attractions in Lot et Garonne - "the garden of France". L’étable

| L'étable, for two/three people once formed part of the stables and has been converted to a three-room, single-bedroom gîte. It is part of the main farmhouse building but it is independent and private and offers light and airy accommodation with lovely views over the valley to the nearby bastide town of Montpezat from the terrace. A small entrance lobby leads to a large living-dining room with a well-equipped fitted kitchen area. Original features remain. The tiled shower room leads off this room, as does the bedroom which sleeps 2 or 3 with a double and a single bed. | |
Notes on accommodation
All linen and towels are provided - pool towels available on request. For lets longer than a week a change of linen will be supplied. Central heating is available for winter lets. The kitchens are well equipped and include conventional (bottled gas) cooker, microwave oven, fridge and washing machine. Gas is included in the rental price. Barbecue equipment is also available and home-cooked frozen meals can be supplied at cost. The Gites each have a PC with free internet access. Wireless access is also available for those with wireless laptops. Prohibitions - We love young children and pets but the property is not suitable for them. It is particularly suited for couples who like to relax in calm and peaceful surroundings with excursions to the sights and restaurants of Lot et Garonne. Smoking is only allowed outside the Gites on the terraces.
Accessibility
Regrettably the properties have a combination of narrow doorways, slopes and internal and external steps which make it unsuitable for people with accessibility difficulties.
Outside
The gites are set in 13 acres of pasture, woodland and orchard. Guests are welcome to walk and picnic on the land. There is an 11x5 metre salt water swimming pool for use by guests, with a shaded patio with table and chairs for those who prefer to be out of the sun. Barbecue equipment is provided free of charge.
Coast/Beach
Riverside beach with boat hire facilities 15 mins away in the town of Castelmoron-sur-Lot. The coastal resort of Arcachon is under two hours away – near enough for a whole day excursion.
Golf
Golf is available on a championship course with restaurant less than 30 minutes away.
Special interest holidays
Flying school and microlite base 10 mins away – lessons and flights are available during the summer months. Guided motorcycle tours are available for touring motorcyclists. Fishing is available on the Lot and at the nearby lac du Salabert which is a also a nature reserve with a lovely circular lakeside walk. Photographers will find plenty of subject matter in the historic buildings, the countryside and the local wildlife including the nesting birds of prey which circle over our valley.
Travel
Fly to Bergerac (45 mins), Bordeaux or Toulouse (both about 1hr 15 mins). Use of a car is highly recommended and there are hire facilities at all three airports. Driving distance from Calais is 600-700 miles dependent on chosen route. The TGV stops at Agen only 25 mins away.

Monflanquin – 25 mins. Villeneuve sur Lot - 20 mins. Agen – 20 mins. Chateau de Bonaguil – 40 mins. Chateau Biron – 40 mins. Bordeaux (town) 1hr 20 mins.
Further details
Many local eating places with prices to suit all pockets. The summer night markets in Prayssas and other villages nearby offer food, wine and music to while away the evening. Prayssas 4km away has a bank, "Spar" type shop, post office, two bars. and two restaurants.
