Chalet Genevieve, our brand new luxury chalet, is located in the village of Verchaix, a 5 minute drive from the historic village of Samoens in the French Alps. The chalet which is south facing & boasts stunning views of the Giffre Valley, is only 150m from the free ski bus stop. This service provides rapid access to the world class ski area of Le Grand Massif. The area's 78 lifts allow extensive skiing for all levels of ability with virtually no lift queues! Chalet Genevieve is sandwiched between Geneva (1 hour) and Mont Blanc is also situated within easy reach of the beautiful and must see locations of Chamonix and Annecy. In Summer, our chalet provides the perfect base for exploring all that this spectacular area has to offer. Whether you are a walker, mountain biker, golfer or an adrenaline enthusiast, there is something for everyone. We also offer personal tuition in Yoga, Meditation, and Nordic Walking, the fastest growing recreational activity in the UK and Europe.

Changeover day
Saturday or Sunday are preferred changeover days, but we can be flexible during off peak & low season periods.

Bed linen & towels are all included for fully catered guests. For self catering parties, bed linen is included, towels can be hired (4 euros per bath towel & hand towel). End of stay clean is also included in price. |

Chalet Genevieve is an ideal chalet for an extended or large family, two families or a group of friends.
Your stay can be as flexible as you would like it to be. We offer a fully catered service throughout the winter but the chalet can also be hired on a self catered or short break basis. During the Summer bed and breakfast, self catering or catered options are all available.

Accessibility
The chalet accommodation is over two floors and is not suitable for guests who find it difficult to use the stairs.
Outside
First Floor & Mezzanine living areas both lead out onto balconies with stunning views overlooking Giffre Valley. Outdoor chairs available.
There is plenty of parking available outside the chalet.
Skiing
Our chalet is situated a 5 minute drive away from the pretty village of Samoens. As the only French ski resort to be historically listed, Samoens has retained it's rural French charm, with traditional bars and cafes, a medieval church and botanical gardens.
Le Grand Massif is the third largest ski area in France and has a fantastic snow record. The area spans from 1100m - 2480m. Our chalet is perfectly situated with an amazing south facing view and less than five minutes drive to either of the main lifts at Samoens or Morillon.
Le Grand Massif boasts 265km of pistes & 78 lifts. There are 133 slopes - 15 green, 53 blue, 51 red & 14 black which makes it a great area for all levels of ability, especially beginners & family groups.
Extensive marked trails and routes makes this area a haven for walkers and mountain bikers.
Special interest holidays
Owners Michele & Matthew Willmott are Internationally recognised Nordic Walking Instructors. Nordic Walking is the fastest growing recreational activity in the UK and is a fantastic way to maintain or improve your fitness levels. This up & coming sport was originally devised as an off season training method for cross country skiers. The estimated number of Nordic Walkers is now 3.5 million and growing.
Michele is also a qualified Yoga & Meditation teacher and can cater for groups or individuals of all levels of ability. All Nordic Walking & Yoga equipment is provided.
Travel
Chalet Genevieve is easily accessible from the motorway, TGV train station or Geneva airport (50 minutes/1 hour). 540 miles form Calais or 9 hour drive.
The use of a car is recommended but not essential in Winter due to free ski bus which stops just down the road from the chalet.
Distances
A two minute walk will take you to into Upper Verchaix where you can find a number of restaurants & a good starting point for picturesque walks. It is only a 4 minute drive to the large Champion supermarket and to the village of Morillon. The historic village of Samoens is only a 5 minute drive away & is the only French ski resort which is historically listed.
The chalet is a great base for exploring the beautiful and must see locations of Annecy, Geneva & Chamonix (45 minute drive).
