Le Chardon Ecossais is a Scottish owned Chambres and Table d'Hote (B&B and evening meal) on the edge of the village of Fourneaux. Peaceful and quiet with views over the rolling hills. It is the perfect base for walking or birdwatching. We have a fabulous indoor swimming pool (8m x 4m). It is heated and floodlit and complemented by the infrared sauna and ideal for relaxing after a day spent touring the many historical churches or walking in the countryside. The rivers and lakes of Creuse are internationally renowned for fishing and we can organise equipment and permits. There are 2 lounges for the exclusive use of guests including broadband internet access and a small library. Outside is a badminton and a petanque court. Through the 5 sets of double doors in the pool room are 2 sun terraces and access to the garden. The fascinating Wolf Park at Guéret is only 1/2 an hour away and Lac Vassiviere can provide all types of watersports including a sailing school.

We have 4 newly decorated bedrooms all en-suite.
"Dee" Room can sleep up to 4 as it has a king size bed as well as a sofabed. The en suite bathroom has a full size bath, twin basins, a bidet and over bath shower.
"Forth" room can also sleep 4 in a double and a sofabed. It has an en-suite shower room with a hydromassage shower cabinet.
"Clyde" room has a double bed.
"Tay" has twin singles. Both have en-suite showers rooms.
All the rooms have linen and towels provided and electric heating. Hairdryers, soap and shampoo are also provided.
Tea and coffee making facilities are available in the lounge 24 hours a day.

 


Travel
We are approximately an hour and a half from Limoges Airport which has cheap flights from the UK via Ryanair and BMI. Pick-ups can be arranged.
While a car is not essential as we have so much to do on site, it is recommended for appreciating the surrounding area.
We are about 7 hours from the Channel ports, take junction 23 from the A20 toward Gueret, then towards Aubusson and we're on the D942 12km before Aubusson.
