This house is designed for modern leisure living and holidays, it has everything you need to enjoy your stay here including English satellite TV. The house is furnished to a high standard with underfloor gas central heating, two bathrooms (one a whirlpool/spa type), three toilets etc. The kitchen is new and fitted with dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, oven and hob. We are situated 1 hour 40 mins from the Med, 10 mins from the mountains, 1 hour from Toulouse international airport (Easyjet) and 1 hour from Carcassonne airport (Ryanair). The area abounds with historical monuments and leisure pursuits, everything from castles to caves, lakes to golf, walking, canyoning, rock climbing, horse-riding, water skiing (yes) and special to the ladies a new spa/sauna/water/hot tub/etc centre. The local markets are a highlight where fresh farmhouse made cheeses and pates can be bought very cheaply. Wine (good quality) costs €12 for 10 litres! Come and join us and have the time of your life.

We offer a 10% discount for bookings of two weeks and 15% on 3 weeks or more.
Changeover day
Guests are expected to arrive in late afternoon (after 4.00 o'clock) on Saturdays and to vacate before 10 o'clock on Saturdays. If however you arrive early and the weather is nice, you are welcome to use the pool or relax in the garden whilst we slave!

Notes on accommodation
The pool is very visible from the terrace and therefore very easy to supervise children. The pool is provided with an outside barbecue.
Accessibility
The ground floor of the house is designed for disabled access (originally designed for owners aged father). All internal doors measure 79cm width with double doors onto the terrace.
Outside
2000 sq.m of garden, barbecue area, outdoor furniture and tables. Badminton set. Pool is 8 x 4m with a large decking/patio area around it. It is a private and exclusive (to you) pool.
Coast/Beach
Med resorts are about 2 hours, but in summer it will be a lot more.
Golf
15 mins to nearest golf and within 1 hour there are perhaps 5 golf course where membership is not required to play.
Skiing
40 minutes from the house to Ax les Thermes (Bonascre). 1 hour to Mont d'Olmes (family resort). 1hr 15m to Andorra.
Special interest holidays
Tour de France 2012. Starting this year in Liege. The Tour de France ALWAYS comes through our area for the mountain legs, full details when the itinerary is published. Book our house early for this stupendous event. Locally, we have riding, fishing, canoeing, white water rafting, canyoning, climbing, golf, walking (every level) cycling, gastronomy, museums, castles, forests, quading(umm?), water skiing, yoga. Fabulous region for walking. All is available including cookery tuition and painting courses very locally. Of course in the winter there are fab skiing resorts within 1 hour to 1 hrs 30 mins away. Winter is magical here with snow on the ground and hot sunshine to laze in.
Travel
Carcassonne (1 hr) Ryanair. Toulouse (1hr) Easyjet. As we are in the countryside a car would be essential in order to see the region. Local car hire no problem (or from either airport)
Distances
5 minutes local wood fired boulangerie/general store. 7 minutes to mini-market/post office/hotel/bar at St.Pierre de Riviere. 10 minutes to Foix. 1 hour Toulouse (great city). 1 hour to Carcassonne (Fantastic castle). Andorra 1 hr 20. Duty free shopping paradise!
Further details
Foix contains all the supermarkets and banks etc you will ever need plus very special town centre shops specialising in local produce etc. Farmers market every Friday. St.Girons market saturday.
Booking notes
Booking is first come first served basis. A deposit of 300 euros cash is required payable on arrival.- fully refunded when the property has been left as you found it. More than two hours cleaning on your departure will be charged for. We require 20% deposit with booking, full payment is 8 weeks before arrival. The deposit will be re-paid as a UK bank cheque/Eurocheque/paypal. In 5 years of letting the house only once have we deducted money for damage (40€).
