La Chouette is a small stone house set in glorious countryside above the river Orne and overlooking open fields. The house provides comfortable accommodation for a couple or a family with small children. The area is a centre for walking and cycling; nearby Pont d’Ouilly, a tourist centre of the Suisse Normande, offers kayaking and river walks. The historic castle of William the Conqueror in Falaise is a 15 minute drive away and the D-day landing beaches are within an hour’s drive.

Changeover day is normally Saturday, but this can be flexible.

Notes on accommodation
Electric radiators in bedrooms and shower room. The house is well equipped for babies and small children. The stairs are steeper than average, a stair gate is provided for the safety of small children. Sorry, no pets and no smoking.

Outside
The house is situated on the edge of our property with its own area of garden. There are sun-loungers, a table and chairs, a barbecue and outdoor play equipment. The property enjoys absolute peace and quiet.
Coast/Beach
The coast is within in an hour's drive.
Travel
The ferry port at Ouistreham (Caen) is approx 50 minutes drive, Le Havre is about one and a half hours and the drive from Boulogne or Calais takes approximately 4 hours.
Distances
Pont d'Ouilly, a tourist centre of the Suisse Normande area is 7km. Falaise and the historic castle of William the Conqueror, is 14km. The university town of Caen is about 45 minutes away.
Further details
There are small shops for everyday needs and a good range of restaurants in Pont d'Ouilly. Falaise has larger supermarkets, banks and a very good selection of shops in the town. The area is a centre for outdoor pursuits. There are many walks and cycle rides of varying degrees of challenge directly from the property.
Booking notes
Prices include all electricity, gas and logs for the stove. A deposit of 100€ or £70 is required at the time of booking. This will be retained as security against damage or breakages and repaid to you within 14 days of the end of your holiday. Payment for the holiday in full in euros, or sterling at the exchange rate current at the time of payment, must be made 4 weeks before the start of your visit.
