An hour from Bordeaux airport. 30 mins from Royan and 75 mins from La Rochelle. Imagine relaxing on a sunny terrace with 180 degree views over fields and the Gironde estuary to the Medoc with a chilled glass of Pineau in hand, the scents of lavender, honeysuckle and jasmine wafting around you whilst the swallowtails enjoy the buddlea and buzzards soar lazily overhead.

| Bedrooms: | Bedroom 1 with double bed. Bedroom 2 with twin 3 ft beds, both have ceiling fans. Bedroom 3 with 2ft 6ins wide bunk beds and a cot. All bedrooms have bedside tables and a wardrobe or built-in cupboard. |
| Bathrooms: | Separate toilet and hand basin. Bathroom - with a basin, bath and separate shower cubicle. |
| Kitchen: | Kitchen - equipped with a fridge/freezer, electric cooker and oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker and kettle. Breakfast table and chairs. Outside potted herbs for your use. |
| Utility Room: | Laundry room houses the automatic washing machine, ironing board/iron and barbecue tools. |
| Living Rooms: | Large L-shaped lounge and dining area, furnished with armchairs, sofa, extendable dining table and 6 chairs, small tables and music centre. In addition there is a terrace leading off the lounge, with table and chairs. Freestanding air conditioner. |

Outside
The garden has trees, shrubs and flowerbeds and is fully fenced off with metal gates to the road. The pool is a figure 8 shape measuring approximately 8m x 5m. The shallow end (by the steps) is 1.4m deep going down to 1.8m at the other end. The pool has been fenced and gated to comply with French legislation. The area around the pool is paved and loungers are supplied. Adjoining the pool is a patio with a stone barbecue and a table and chairs. The caretaker is responsible for the maintenance of the pool.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beaches are at Meschers (20 mins). These are in small coves and thus most suitable for families with young children. The beaches of St George de Didonne (30 mins), Royan (35 mins) and La Palmyre (40 mins) are long sandy beaches with many facilities.
Golf
Golf courses at La Palmyre - 40 mins, Saintes - 30 mins and Cognac - 45 mins drive.
Travel
Bordeaux airport - 1 hour, La Rochelle - 75 mins. St Malo - 5 hour, Caen 7 hour, Calais - 9 hour. Use of car is essential.
Distances
Approximately 2km in either direction to the towns of Mortagne-sur-Gironde and St Fort-sur-Gironde. Both towns have churches, small supermarkets, markets, banks, bakers, post offices, bars and restaurants. The larger towns of Cozes and Gemozac are 20 mins drive. Approximately 30 mins drive are the famous historic towns of Saintes and Talmont and Cognac is 40 mins away. There are many vineyards surrounding and 'tasting' is widespread including at the local stand 5 mins walk.
Further details
Another place of interest is Jonzac which has a tropical swimming complex and there are many, many good restaurants in the area. There is a well known fish market in Royan for those who really like their fish fresh and the locally 'grown' oysters are very popular. The area has historic sites of Gallo-Roman ruins.
Booking notes
Please contact us in the first instance. We will then send you a booking form which you should return with a deposit of £200. Full payment is required 8 weeks before your holiday. No refunds, if booking is cancelled unless the property is re-let. A refundable deposit of £200 is required against damage or breakages and that the property has been left clean and tidy.
