A comfortable stone farmhouse built during the French revolution, furnished with a mix of modern and antique pieces, including paintings, oriental carpets, fully equipped large kitchen, and a library. There is a large garden, fully enclosed, filled with lavender, rosemary, and other scented plants. The pool is 10x5m and fenced. One terrace shaded by a mulberry tree serves as an outdoor dining room and another covered terrace serves as an outdoor sitting room. 2 bedrooms, bathroom and library on the first floor; another 2 bedrooms and bathroom on the top floor. The salon with fireplace, dining room, hall and kitchen on the ground floor have under-floor heating. The house is fully equipped including linens and towels. St Tropez and the coast are a one hour drive and Nice or Marseilles each 1½ hour's drive from Cotignac. Located in the village and a 10 minute walk to the shopping area.

Changeover day
Rentals are from Saturday to SaturdayArrival time 4pm. Departure by 11am. House manager will meet you at the house.
| Bedrooms: | Each of the four bedrooms is equipped with a double bed. Two bedrooms on the first floor. Two bedrooms on the top floor. Each has ample cupboard space. |
| Bathrooms: | The first floor bathroom has a bath tub and a separate shower, double sinks and toilet. The top floor bathroom has a shower, double sinks, and a toilet. Ample supply of hot water. |
| Kitchen: | The kitchen is large and traditional, includes an electric oven, gas cook tops, a refrigerator, a kitchen table, dishwasher, toaster oven, food processor. The pantry houses another refrigerator, ample supply of dishes and wineglasses. |
| Utility Room: | The washing machine and laundry equipment are located in the utility room off the covered terrace. |
| Living Rooms: | The salon has a sofa and chairs, oriental carpets, paintings, wood fireplace, CD player. |
| Other: | The library is well furnished with books and internet wireless access. There is a telephone. Dining room will seat 6 people comfortably. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
All linens, towels and bedding are supplied. The house manager will do some cleaning weekly; extra cleaning should be negotiated with the house manager. The pool will be serviced once weekly or twice if heavily used. |
Notes on accommodation
The house is neither equipped nor suitable for small children. There is under-floor heating for the cooler months. Request absolutely no smoking in the house. No pets are permitted.
Please note that the website photos have not been updated since a recent re-arrangement of the ground floor rooms: A fireplace has been installed in what used to be the dining room, and that is now the salon. The former salon is now the dining room.
There is underfloor heating on the ground floor, as well as in the main bathroom, and also in the tower bedroom.
Accessibility
The property is not accessible to wheelchairs; stairs are open and narrow. The floor levels are variable.
Outside
The garden is large, enclosed, furnished with scented plants trimmed in boules in the French manner, roses, olive and cypress trees. The pool is 10x5m and bromine treated and private and fenced. There is a charcoal barbeque in the covered terrace and a propane gas BBQ as well. The covered terrace is furnished as an outdoor sitting room and the other terrace, shaded by a mulberry tree, serves as an outdoor dining room. The gate is electrically controlled; there is ample parking within the grounds.
Coast/Beach
St. Tropez and the coast is about an hour's drive away. Beautiful beaches in the vicinity. Nevertheless, in the summer months, the roads to the coast are clogged.
Travel
Having a car is pretty well essential, given that you are in the country. The Nice Airport is about an hour and a half away via the autoroute, and the Marseilles airport about the same distance. The Toulon-Hyere airport is much closer and easy to get to; there are cheap flights from the smaller British airports. The TVG stops at Les Arcs-Draguinan train station, about 50 minutes away cross country; there is public parking; one can make daytrips to various destinations, including Monaco.
Further details
Everything one may require is obtainable in the village: there are 2 butcher shops, fishmonger, fromagerie, one or more greengrocers, 3 boulangeries, an amazing hardware shop, a flower shop, hair salons, a post office, a bank, a newsagent, two dentists, vet and a doctor. Excellent restaurants. Mediaeval villages and abbeys a short drive away.
Booking notes
The rental can be secured by a 700 euros deposit at the time of booking. The balance of rent is due 6 weeks before taking up the rental. A 700 euros damage/caution deposit, refundable, is required as well.
