The farmstead in the hamlet of Les Pradies was built in 1807 and was originally a small holding. It comprises of a main house, a large barn which is used for storage, a piggery, a bakery and around 1 acre of grounds divided into an upper terrace and a meadow. It was owned by local villagers until 2001 and completely renovated by us in 2006/7. The house offers all the modern amenities with the traditional charm of an old farmhouse. The property has some thick stone walls to keep it cool in summer and a huge wood burner to supplement the electric heating in the winter. The property is situated in a heavily wooded area with wonderful walks, many of which are signposted and we are within easy distance of many attractions such as Rocamadour, Saint Cirq LaPopie, Cahors, Peche Merle, Toulouse to name just a few. We are equally well placed to take advantage of the wonderful local markets, restaurants and vineyards.

Changeover day
We rent from Saturday to Saturday but will try to accommodate other requirements particularly off peak. We ask that guests arrive after 4pm and leave before 10am to give us time to prepare everything.

Bedrooms: Master bedroom with vaulted ceiling, king size bed, built-in wardrobe and access by spiral staircase.
Double with king size bed and single day bed.
Twin with two single beds.
Also a sofa bed in the living room which converts to a full size double bed.
Bathrooms: Panelled bathroom with loo, sink and shower.
Kitchen: Full size cooker and hob, dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment, oak worktops with a large amount of work space. The owners like to cook and the kitchen reflects this. Window seat.
Living Rooms: 5m x 5.5m (16'5" x 18'), wood floors, feature spiral staircase and wood burning stove and some stone walls. Twelve seat table and chairs, huge sofa bed plus other sofa, TV, DVD, CD, Internet Acess, UK Sky, plenty of games etc available.
Other: There is a cellar with full-sized table football.

Once weekly linen and towels are included, end cleaning included.

Outside
There is an upper terrace and a large lower terrace between the house and the barn. The upper terrace has a built in BBQ and a large outdoor table and chairs. It also has an 18ft by 12ft (4ft deep) easy up, above ground swimming pool. The lower terrace is shingled, so great for petanque, with borders. The meadow adjoining the property is around an acre with a couple of small outbuildings and a newly planted orchard. Please feel free to pick any ripe walnuts, figs, peaches or grapes from the grounds and use the herb garden near the house.

Travel
We usually fly to Bergerac with Ryanair but Toulouse and Rodez are also options (Toulouse is the arrival point for Leeds and Edinburgh). We are approx 550 miles from Calais.

Distances
We are around 1km from Les Junies, 4km from Prayssac and 20km from Cahors.

10% discount is applicable to the 2nd week price of a 2 week booking. Payments can also be made in euros, please email us for the current exchange rate.
