Courchevel 1550 is immediately below 1850 and so, of all the villages, has the most direct and fastest lift connections to the main lifts at 1850 from where you can ski the whole of Les Trois Vallees. Adjacent is the floodlit toboggan run from 1850 which is great fun if a little hairy! The Grangettes bubble, where you can also buy lift passes, stays open in the evening to enable you to reach the start of the run.

Changeover day
Chez Tom is available Sunday-Sunday as the roads and airports are generally much less crowded.

Notes on accommodation
A complimentary hamper with wine, fresh bread, butter, jam, milk, tea and coffee is provided to welcome you. The apartment has the benefit of underfloor heating throughout and bags of hot water.
Secure, reserved, covered car parking included. For everyone's comfort, this is a non-smoking apartment.
Skiing
1550 still retains the charm of a traditional village but also offers all the facilities, such as bars, a variety of restaurants, shops and ski-hire to make your holiday as relaxed as possible.
Les Trois Vallees ski area encompasses the resorts of Courchevel, Meribel, Les Menuires and Val Thorens and offers a huge variety of skiing on widely differing terrain to satisfy all ability levels. It includes over 600 km of piste runs with, reputedly, one of the most efficient lift systems in Europe. Courchevel now has an electronic lift pass system, so no photos are needed!
The area has numerous off-piste opportunities and there are several terrain parks, one of which is close to the top of the Tovets 6-man high speed chair from 1550. There is also a regular and reliable free bus service to 1850, 1650, Le Praz and La Tania that runs from early morning to late at night.
Travel
By air - suggest try Easyjet, FlyBE, Ryanair and BMI Baby to Geneva, Lyons, Chambery, Grenoble and St. Etienne. Approx transfer time to Courchevel is between 1hr 30 and 3hrs, Chambery being closest to resort.
By train - Eurostar to Moutiers from where it is only a 30 min transfer to resort by taxi. There is also a regular bus service.
By road - driving time from Calais is approx 9 hrs and is almost all motorway apart from the drive up the mountain from Moutiers.

We recommend these ski schools as they are English run and staffed, so language shouldn't be a problem! They do, however, get booked up well in advance so advise early booking. Magic in Motion. New Generation. Ski Supreme. There is free WiFi access in Office de Tourisme immediately adjacent.
