Le Moulin is situated on the border of Brittany and Normandy the River Lair which runs through the grounds is the border, making the location ideal for touring both regions. Our cottages are situated only 1.5km from the picturesque village of St Martin de Landelles offering a bar, restaurant and small supermarket etc. The market town of St Hilaire du Harcouet, with its choice of restaurants, shops, swimming pool, supermarkets etc is just 10 mins away by car. A very popular market is held here every Wednesday. In 40 mins you can find the lovely unspoilt beaches of the west coast Cotentin peninsula, or the ancient monument of Le Mont St Michel known the world over. The bustling harbour and beautiful beaches of St Malo is a must to visit being less than an hour’s car journey away. There is an abundance of wildlife to observe at the property including deer, nesting buzzards, ragodin/coypu, even wild boar if you’re lucky, plus the wildlife attracted by the fresh water of the River Lair.

Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday and the cottage must be vacated by 10am and is available from 4pm that day.

Millers cottage has been recently refurbished and offers the following accommodation.
The ground floor is open plan with the kitchen situated one end fitted with oak units and comprises of double electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher etc.
Living/dining area with granite fireplace fitted with wood-burning stove, chestnut flooring for a warm look and 3 comfy sofas, flat screen TV/video, DVD player, radio/CD player and games.
Upstairs has a wooden floor with exposed beams, a single bed and access onto a 'Juliet' style balcony.
Off the landing is access to -
Bedroom 1 with double bed.
Bedroom 2 with single bed.
Bathroom with large shower, wash basin, wc, bidet.

Le Moulin has just been tastefully refurbished throughout to a very high standard incorporating many original features. The property has central heating and therefore offers year round comfort in the following accommodation-
Ground floor- Large open plan sitting/dining area featuring granite stone wall one end fitted with woodburning stove. Viewing window of the stream which when opened brings the sound of the stream into the property. Comfy settees offer seating for 6 people. TV with video/dvd player, radio/cd player. Old french dining table easily accommodates eight people.
At the other end of the ground floor is the kitchen area with a range cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave etc. Cloakroom off with fitted shower, w/c and hand basin. Spiral staircase leads to first floor landing area which sleeps up to 3 people in single beds, door off leads to master bedroom. Main bedroom has kingsize double bed and incorporates wash basin, shower and seperate toilet.

 

Notes on accommodation
Millers Cottage and Le Moulin are accessed via a lane which only runs to these properties therefore it is very peaceful. Each cottage is totally seperate with their own gardens and parking areas etc. However, they do offer the perfect opportunity for two famillies to share the same location, yet be independant from one another. For those out of season breaks the properties benefit from full central heating and efficient woodburning stoves. Pets may be considered by prior arrangement.

Outside
Both the cottages are surrounded by their own grounds with various seating areas, patio with gas BBQ wooden table and chairs. With pleasant evening strolls along the banks of the stream. The tranquil sound of running water in the stream can be heard throughout the grounds, and makes for a very relaxing atmosphere. There are quiet country walks from the properties or you can stroll to St Brice or St Martin for a drink (about 15 mins walk).

Coast/Beach
In 35 mins you can explore the beautiful beaches of the Cotentin peninsula along with all that it has to offer, it is a haven for the active offering windsurfing, kitesurfing, kitebuggying, sailing, sand yachting etc. With an excellent tuition and hire facility at Jullouville. The Mont St Michel is a medieval treasure and a must to visit, inland there are many regional natural parks such as the Cotentin and Bessin. The area is also perfect for walking, cycling, fishing, canoeing etc.

Travel
By ferry: you have the choice of four ferry ports - Le Havre- with Brittany ferries and LD Lines offering daily crossings from Poole, Portsmouth and Newhaven (2 hours from property). Caen- with Brittany Ferries (1.5 hours to property). Cherbourg- from Portsmouth and Poole Brittany Ferries ( 1.5 hours from property). St Malo - with Brittany Ferries (1 hour from property). By air: Ryanair from Birmingham, East Midlands, Bristol and Stanstead to Dinard 1 hour from property. Car hire available.
