Tourouzelle is an ideal location to enjoy the Languedoc Roussillon region. This quiet village is the home to several wine domains and has a shop and a post office. The Canal du Midi passes close to Tourouzelle and the ports at Homps and Argens are nearby. Beaches are only a 30 to 45 min drive. You can visit developed coastal areas like Narbonne Plage or vast natural sandy stretches such as those near Leucate Plage. Carcassonne, the medieval fortress town, is only 25 mins away. Narbonne is 20 mins away, and there are several beautiful coastal towns such as Bages. To the north, the Cathars village of Minerve, which overlooks the spectacular gorge formed by the river Cesse, is only a 20 minute drive. Even closer to home, at only 4km away, Lac de Jouarres offers picnicking, swimming, fishing, sailing, canoeing and windsurfing. Notes on accommodation
The property is fitted with reversible climate control and therefore has electric heating for winter months.

Accessibility
The main entrance is accessed along a gentle uphill path. The open plan lounge kitchen diner, bathroom and terrace lounge/bedroom 4 are on the main level. The pool can be accessed by downhill path through the garden. The property can therefore be enjoyed without using any of the internal stairs. There have been no specific modifications for wheelchair users.

Outside
There are 2 private terraces. 1 facing east outside the summer kitchen and 1facing south outside the kitchen lounge and terrace lounge. There is a gas BBQ and dining furniture on the east terrace. There is also a table and chairs on the south terrace with a masonry barbecue nearby in the garden. The private pool is kidney shaped and approx 8x4m. It is fenced for safety and there is a sunbathing terrace that enjoys the sun all day. There are loungers and a shower on the sun terrace. The garden has walnut and fig trees and vines are growing around the house.

Coast/Beach
The nearest beach is at Narbonne Plage, 30 minutes away. Languedoc is famous for its miles of sandy beaches.

Travel
The nearest airport is at Carcassonne (45km). There are also convenient airports at Beziers, Girona and Perpignan. The area is also accessible from the airports at Toulouse, Montpelier and Barcelona. The nearest train station is at Lezignan-Corbieres (12km). The city of Narbonne has a train station with car hire available

Distances

Further details
The village of Olanzac (4km) has a wonderful market on a Tuesday. There are several restaurants, a bank, a variety of shops and a supermarket there as well. There are many places along the Canal du Midi to relax with a drink or to enjoy a meal.

A deposit if 25% is required to secure the booking. The balance of the rental must be paid no later than 8 weeks before arrival.

All the beds were really comfortable and the fold down beds in the sun lounge worked out fine. The cul-de-sac location, village and local area are also just what we wanted - quiet and rural but with plenty of interest.'
