This beautiful villa is situated in the old village of Caux-et-Sauzens, overlooked by vineyards and sunflower fields with the Pyrenees in the distance. Located only 10 minutes from the old city of Carcassonne, 10 minutes from the airport (serviced by Ryan air), two and a half hours to Barcelona and less than an hour to the Mediterranean beaches it makes for a perfect location. A 20-minute drive North takes you high into the mountains where you can picnic on the beaches of the numerous lakes and bathe in the crystal clear waters. When you have had enough of lounging around the pool you will find plenty to do with fishing, golf, pony trekking, canoeing & carting all within minutes of the villa. The old city is regarded as possibly the finest example of a medievil city anywhere in the world and has numerous restaurants and bistro’s to tempt you into whilst you’re exploring the maze of cobbled streets. Try a shopping experience in Montpellier visiting the many chic boutiques.

Changeover day
For July and August Arrivals Saturday after 3.00pm. Depart Saturdays 10.00am. All other time by agreement.

Outside
Secluded private pool with a self activating security alarm(10 x 5 meters) and patio area, 2 charcoal barbecues, ample chairs/tables and sunloungers. Large gazebo to offer shade in the hot sun. The pool and patio area along with the garden is floodlit enabling you to BBQ comfortably at anytime during the warm summer evenings.
Coast/Beach
Nearest beach is Nabonne plage just less than an hours drive. Nabonne plage along with Gruissan plage (my favourite) have miles of golden sand and gently sloping beaches, making it ideal for young children.
Golf
Carcassonne golf course only a 10 minute drive away. Challanging course always in good condition with fast greens. Very picturesque with mature trees and water hazards, Fantastic views over the valleys with the Pyrenees in the distance. Good restaurant with decked patio area overlooking the 1st tee.
Beziers and Cap d'agde golf courses both around an hours drive away. American in design, both championship courses.
Skiing
Nearest ski station is approx one hour drive.
Travel
If travelling from Calais, it is a 650 mile drive (recommended nightly stop at Orleans in the Loire valley). Ryan air fly from Stansted to Carcassonne which is ideal as a typical ticket usually cost about £30 each way (far less if booked in advance). Toulose international airport is an hours drive away and is serviced by most main airports. Car hire is available from Hertz and Eurocar, typical price is £300 for a fortnight in August if booked in advance.
Distances
Carcassonne medieval city only 10 minute drive away, France's 3rd most visited tourist attraction. The Villa is located just off the route de vin which is a must drive if you want to sample and see how the local wines are produced.
Further details
There is one local shop in the village selling day to day groceries (5 min walk). 5 minutes by car on the outskirts of Carcassonne you have a large shopping mall with supermarkets and every kind of shop you can think of within walking distance. Carcassonne itself is split into two parts, the medievil city and the town separated by the river Aude. There are numerous shops, banks, bars, cafe bars, bistro's and enough restaurants to keep you going for months.
Booking notes
£100 deposit (per week) required for reservation, balance to be paid 4 weeks prior to arrival. Cleaning charge of 50 Euro paid locally.

Hi Gary, The accommodation was absolutely amazing in a quiet and tranquil village set within the French countryside. The photographs on the website simply do not do the property the justice it deserves... we were blown away by the immense area and extensive equipment, available to make a delightful home-from-home holiday.
