The villa is located on a hill with terraces on 3 levels. This includes a covered dining area with a wooden table, 8 chairs and a gas BBQ. There is also a large sun terrace with 2 sun loungers plus a roof sun deck with stunning sea views. There are 2 communal swimming pools, 1 which is heated and open from April to October and another unheated open during June, July and August. The pool area is fully fenced and entered through security gates.
The development is ideal for children who tend to congregate and play together in the communal areas, particularly during the summer months.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beaches are at La Franqui and Leucate plage, both just a 10 mins drive from the villa and at Port Leucate, about 20 mins drive away. There you will find a whole host of water sports on offer including sailing, windsurfing, water skiing and canoeing. There are also a number of beach restaurants serving great seafood open during the summer months.
Travel
By air with budget airlines Ryanair, Flybe, BMI Baby, easyjet and BA flying in to Perpignan (20 mins), Carcassonne (50 mins), Girona, Spain (80 mins), Montpellier (60 mins), Toulouse (120 mins) or Barcelona (120 mins).
By train with Eurostar from Waterloo or Ashford to Paris or Lille (1-2 hours) and then SNCF to Narbonne or Perpignan (approx 5-6 hours).
By motorail from Calais to Narbonne.

Further details
Fitou is a famous wine village offering ample opportunity to sample the local wine in its many village caves. There are 2 great restaurants within a 15 mins walk of the villa. Both serve superb food and offer a unique French atmosphere. There is also a medieval chateau within a 10 mins walk that has a museum, gift shop and bar where tapas is served.
The village also offers three additional restaurants, a tabac, a supermarket and a doctors surgery. There is a football stadium, a hard surface football/basketball court with a small climbing wall, a table tennis table, a children's playground, a bouladrome and a tennis court. During the summer months the village comes alive with regular music evenings outside the village bar plus the unforgettable annual wine fete at the beginning of August.
Languedoc-Roussillon is France's southernmost region bordered by Spain, Andorra and the Pyrenees Mountains and boasts everything from mountains and rivers to lakes and the Mediterranean Sea. The region has a long coastline of virtually uninterrupted white, sandy beaches and picturesque fishing villages and ports. Watersports including wind/kite surfing, sailing, canoeing, diving and water skiing can be found on the coast whilst activities such as canyoning, mountain biking, rock climbing, horse riding, white water rafting, hiking and golf are also available nearby. The ski resorts of the Pyrenees mountains are just a 90 minute drive away.
The local area offers lots of family activities and days out such as the underground caves at Ville-Franche (40 mins), the little yellow train that travels up the Pyrenees mountains (40 mins), a fantastic African safari park with over 3000 animals (15 mins) as well as a whole host of adventure and water parks (20 mins).
