Owner profile
About the owner
We live in England and have two grown up daughters and an adorable black Labrador. We enjoy our time so much in Lus-La-Croix-Haute in France. We feel we can escape from the busy lives we lead at home, we have no phone and no internet so we can really lock ourselves away. We particularly enjoy it when our daughter's and their husbands come down and we get to spend time all together.
We thought for several years about buying a second home abroad and in 2006 we took the plunge.
Totally out of character I told my husband I wanted the house before I had even been inside. The views from the patio are beautiful and I could just imagine sitting there watching the world go by, and it was snowing at the time!
We refer to our house as our little piece of heaven on earth.
Year purchased: 2006
Why the owner chose a home in this location
We primarily bought the house as a place to relax and enjoy ourselves but also as an investment.
We love the area because life is a much slower pace, the village is a nice size as it has all the amenities but it is not too large. We didn't want to live in a village that was too remote because of the heavy snowfall in winter but we wanted somewhere we could go skiing and not travel too far.
Unique benefits of the property
We enjoy the peace and quiet and sitting out on our patio until late at night. We also like to see so many stars at night because there is no light polution.
