Appartement des Remparts is a beautifully restored one bedroom apartment on the ground floor of a XVIIIth century building in the centre of historic Dinan. The large open plan kitchen / living area has polished wooden floors, lime and hemp rendered walls, an imposing Granite fireplace and an oak open plan kitchen. In the bedroom the original wooden wall panelling has been carefully restored and complements the fireplace and two original oil paintings discovered in the course of the renovation. The apartment opens onto a delightful stoned walled garden with gravelled terrace and mature trees. The garden is perched on the old city remparts and offers open views onto its surroundings. Fully equipped and fitted in 2007. There is are three public car parks near the apartment, one behind the building (250 spaces)and two others within 300/400 meters walking.

Coast/Beach
The north coast is a 20 minute easy drive from Dinan. Where there are plenty of destinations to choose from, whether you enjoy sandy beaches or small intimate coves. From the historical walled city of St Malo town to the seaside resorts of Dinard and St Cast, to the stunning bay of St Briac and picturesque fishing peninsula of St Jacut and the dramatic lanscapes of Cap Frehel.
Also, the Rance Valley is a wonderful area of wildlife preservation, with pathways and picturesque fishing villages.
Golf
A number of golf courses are within easy access including Dinard, Le Tronchet, le Clos des Ormes, St Cast, St Michel de Plelan, Pleneuf Val André, all within 20 to 40 mins drive.
Travel
The nearest airport is at Dinard about 20 mins by car. Ryanair offer very cheap regular flights to and from the UK. The ferry port of Saint Malo is 30 mins by car. Other ferry ports are an easy drive on good roads, including Caen, Roscoff and Cherbourg (all about 2 hours drive).
Distances
The apartment is located in the heart of historic Dinan, one of the best preserved medieval towns in France. Further afield is the 'must see' Mont St Miche and the historic towns of Fougeres, Vitre and the regional capital of Rennes. The Normandy D Day beaches and historic Bayeau can be reached in about 2 hours. The high speed train (TGV) links Dinan to Paris in 4 hours.
Further details
Dinan has a wide range of good bistros and restaurants as well as traditional French bars and cafes. Dinan is home to a number of artist’s galleries and craftsmen's workshops. There is the usual range of shops, banks and other facilities.
Booking notes
A 25% deposit is required to secure your reservation; the balance of the rental is due 8 weeks before your stay. A refundable damage deposit of £200 is payable two weeks before your holiday - this is refunded within two weeks of your departure.

'Thank you for the wonderful time we had at your property in Dinan. We've beeen travelling for 8 months now and have had nowhere like it in all that time. The house itself was homely and comfortable whilst the garden proved a revelation. Meals of typical French produce washed down with a good red were wonderful out there and will be very happy memories.' (DC May 08).
