Coin des Eaux is a beautiful French holiday home available for rent all year round. The house has been furnished to a high standard and is well equipped with all the home comforts you would expect. Situated in Central France to the very south of the Loire Valley, bordering the Charente and Limousin regions. The house sits on the river Anglin and enjoys stunning views across the river and bathing lake. Its central village location enables you to walk to local amenities including, a fresh water bathing lake, park, bank, supermarket, breadshop, delicatesen and fine restaurant where a four course dinner will cost you from 11 Euros! Belabre is situated in the Parc Naturel Regional Du La Brenne, with over 1500 lakes. The area is ideal for families, cyclists, walkers, and people looking for a retreat. It is also home to an amazing diversity of wildlife and is very popular with bird watchers.

Outside
Pretty private courtyard ideal for outside dining equipped with patio set and barbecue. Walking distance to river bank (ideal for fishing), bathing lake (manned by a lifeguard in peak season), children's play park, boules pitch, crazy golf and boat hire.
Coast/Beach
Bellebouche "the beach in the heart of France". One of the most beautiful lakes of La Brenne. It has a hundred hectares of water with 900 metres of white sandy beach. There is safe bathing for young children, with water activities and also fish ponds, nature trails, play parks and a restaurant. c. 30 minute drive.
Golf
9-hole golf course 8km. Crazy golf on your doorstep!
Travel
Ferry crossings will take you into Northern France. You can travel with Brittany Ferries, Speed Ferries and Norfolk Line. As an example it will take you a maximum of 5 hours to drive to Belabre from Caen.
Train from London (change at Paris) will take you directly to Limoges. Belabre is a 1 hour drive from Limoges centre.
By plane; the nearest airports to Belabre are Limoges (c.1 hour drive), Poitiers (c. 1 hour 20 mins drive) & Tour (c. 1 hr 30 min drive). Ryanair & Flybe operate the routes.

Le Blanc 10km (nearest town).
Rosnay c.10km The visitors centre where you will find out everything you need to know about the area to enable you to plan your stay in La Brenne.
Tours - capital of the region (1 hour 30 mins).

Chauvigny - medieval town, don't miss the falconry display! (30 mins).

Belabre has 3 bakers, a deli, a small supermarket for your basics, a bank and a restaurant - all within a short walk from Coin des Eaux.
Booking notes
You can book in multiples of 1 week. Bookings are Saturday to Saturday.
Make your provisional reservation by telephone or email. Then complete a booking form, and return with a 30% deposit. Balance is payable 6 weeks before the start of your holiday.
Information for use during your stay will be sent out on receipt of full payment.

A great place to stay to tour around la brenne and parts of the Vienne. Cafe des sports in Belabre, friendly, food excellent and v.v. good value! Mr and Mrs O'Brian 2008.

About the owner
We are a hard working couple with 2 children and our holidays are precious. We love this undiscovered corner of France with its 1,500 lakes far from the madding crowd but still with lots of things to see and do. From pond dipping & lizard chasing to donkey trekking, from the Velo Rail & "Specatcle" of birds of prey flying over the castle ruins at Chauvigny to the Chateau & wild life park at Azay, from castles to World heritage Abbeys, from Theme Parks (Futuroscope) to quiet bathing lakes (at Belabre, Chaillac, Puye and Bellebouche) from pavement cafes to menu de jours & Michelin star restaurant, there is something for everyone. In the 5 years of coming here we have barely scratched the surface.
Why the owner chose a home in this location
As new parents & Francophiles we wanted a holiday "home-from-home" in France where we could relax & recharge our batteries. We spent many holidays travelling through France & were frequently disappointed by the gites we hired: either the cleanliness/quality was poor or the location was not what we'd been expecting. Then we found this little house near the river in Belabre & we fell in love with the welcoming ambiance of the house & the pretty flower-decked village. The warm welcome from the locals & the convenience of having a bakers, mini-market & restaurant within walking distance as well as a bathing lake & river-side with boat hire right on our doorstep gave us everything we could wish for. The icing on the cake was to discover that Belabre is in La Brenne Parc Naturel with 1500 lakes.
Unique benefits of the property
Coin des Eaux is in the heart Belabre, a 2 minute walk up the hill to fetch hot croissants for breakfast, only a 5 minute walk to the restaurant where we can both enjoy a glass of wine with our meal & not have to worry who is going to drive home! It is wonderful to sit with a glass of local wine when the children are in bed & watch swallows & bats swooping over the river, we have even heard nightingales! We all love the bathing lake & are becoming very proficient at rowing on the river, when the children are older they will be able to take out their own canoes. Walking & cycling is a delight in the virtually traffic free lanes & paths around Belabre. Further afield there is the Voie Verte above Le Blanc & the amazing diversity of wild life of the lakes to explore. Belabre is truly special.
