Notes on prices

In addition to the rental a deposit of £250 is payable which is fully refundable, subject to no cancellation or damage.
Changeover day
Current guests are asked to vacate the apartment by 10am on changeover day, normally Saturday. New guests are asked not to occupy the apartment until after 3pm to allow a thorough clean to be done. Some flexibility may be possible, depending on progress.
| Bedrooms: | Bedroom 1 has a double bed, triple wardrobe, with shelves and bedside unit. Bedroom 2 has twin beds, wardrobe and bedside unit. Bedroom 3 has two sets of bunk beds, wardrobe and shelves. |
| Bathrooms: | Each bathroom has a power shower within a 1200 enclosure. This provides plenty of room for a refreshing shower. A heated towel rail provides more comfort. Between each bathroom is the separate wc to provide great relief when both showers are in use! |
| Kitchen: | Fully integrated units including a four ring hob, fridge freezer, combination oven/grill, microwave and dishwasher, with ample base and wall units to store plenty of pots, pans, bowls, cooking dishes along with crockery and cutlery for up to 10 guests. |
| Utility Room: | Internal to the apartment is a facilitated ski and boot storage area separate from the main living and sleeping rooms. This provides you with greater security and convenience rather than having to use separate lockers located elsewhere in the building. |
| Living Rooms: | The lounge consists of very comfortable sofas to relax on and enjoy the TV/DVD, or full music system, including radio (for daily weather forecasts in English) CD and audio tapes. Guests are welcome to enjoy any DVD/CDs here, or to bring any of their own. |

| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
A complete set of new linen is provided for each bed every week when the apartment is cleaned thoroughly on changeover day, which is typically on a Saturday, or whichever day is agreed. However, guests will need to bring their own towels. |
| Amenities/Facilities: | hob/stove oven fridge/freezer microwave dishwasher tv central heating |
| Location Type: |
Notes on accommodation
The building also has a small games room containing table tennis, pool etc.
Accessibility
Parking is plentiful outside the building and because the building is at the end of a cul-de-sac privacy and children's safety is considerably improved.
Skiing
By linking the resorts of Les Arcs and La Plagne - now known as Paradiski - skiers of all abilities have over 420km of piste at their disposal! Probably more off-piste! The apartment is approximately a 300m glide from this link(easy for even a beginner), so you really can choose to ski all of Les Arcs or all of La Plagne! Alternatively, take the four-man lift outside the apartment building for a local blue run(which is a very easy blue) to ski to both the Vanoise Express and the six-man chair beside it for Les Arcs, or to carry on down to the neighbouring resort of Vallandry for a different route up into Les Arcs!
Returning to the apartment via 'Poney', an easy blue run brings you to a really lovely restaurant, La Vache for sun-soaked apres ski and very fine dining later in the evening, where making a reservation is a must!

Further details
For both the seasoned 'mountaineer' and for the newcomer, Summer in the Alps is truly breathtaking and can offer a great deal more than in winter which is mainly confined to skiing or boarding.
The aromas, fauna, flora and wonderful views form the base of a memorable holiday. Depending on your pace of life, your pace of holiday can be accommodated: from parapenting to painting and picnicking, rock climbing to relaxing walks, white water rafting to wine on a lido in a mountain lake, mountain biking to stabilisers!
Simply sipping a chilled wine or beer after a day out in the mountains, taking in the gorgeous view from the terrace cannot be reproduced - it has to be done live!
To maintain the change in scenery from the mountains the local town of Bourg St Maurice has a good selection of bars, bistros and restaurants. An extensive market comes to town each Wednesday(but best to check with the local tourist information) for sumptuous local produce including cheeses, meats and wines.
A unique route down to the town is on the very impressive funicular railway from Arc 1600, which takes approximately 25 minutes to walk to from the apartment. The ticket can be purchased separately or is automatically included when a general lift pass is purchased.
Because of the various lifts that are open, including the funicular railway it is quite easy to stay in the apartment during the summer without your own car, but as with most destinations your mobility around the area increases if you do have one. If you are more than one group wishing to stay, the apartment's location at the end of a cul-de-sac does afford plentiful parking, with additional benefits in the form of privacy and improved children's safety.
Booking notes
A £250 security and cancellation deposit is required per booking, unless multiple weeks are required. This is, of course, fully refundable subject to no cancellation and the property and possessions are not damaged. In addition, the full rental amount is due no later than eight weeks before guests are due to stay in the apartment.
Guest comments
Thank you very much for the use of your chalet – it was very comfortable and had everything we needed (nice showers too!)
It is in a brilliant position for either Les Arcs or Le Plagne, (and La Vache!!) and we would definitely choose it again.
We had a great week in Les Arcs, the apartment was ideal.
Just a quick note to say we all really enjoyed the break despite no new
snow for a while now!
House swap
House swap considered. Very flexible on type and location of property.
Owner profile
About the owner
An extremely keen skier, I love the Alps and have enjoyed staying in chalets, self-catering apartments and hotels in France, Switzerland, Austria, Italy and North America.
Having been introduced to skiing by my Scottish wife("If you can ski in Scotland, you can ski anywhere" - not because it's difficult but because it's mostly awful) our two children are now both truly enjoying the many positives to skiing.
As a Lecturer I am extremely fortunate in having the time to visit the Alps in all the seasons, as summer offers many other thrills.
Year purchased: 2003
Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
The area around the apartment is truly beautiful, with an unobstructed view up the valley between Vallandry and La Plagne.
For unbeatable convenience, there is a four-man chairlift 20metres from the apartment which takes you towards Les Arcs.
However, the apartment is still only a few hundred metres from the impressive 200-man cable car 'The Vanoise Express' linking Les Arcs with La Plagne, now known as Paradiski. For even more choice this is beside a 6-man chairlift for Les Arcs.
Just 3-minutes walk into the lovely village of Plan Peisey its ski-in/out location really does make it ideal for a fantastic week of skiing - as easy or as challenging as you want!
Unique benefits of the property
Apart from its ideal location the apartment allows guests to truly relax. The very comfortable lounge is convivial to a chill-out mood.
The kitchen is equipped to offer the more adventurous chefs scope to create, or for those who just want to flop the convenience to do so!
The dining room comfortably seats 8 whilst listening to your own CD's or radio.
The apartment allows a large party or a couple of families more than the average amount of room to enjoy a week together without tripping over each other or having to sleep in any living area.
Enjoy!
