La Maison Madeleine is a character stone house set back from the river in Dinan's historic and vibrant port area. Positioned in a quiet cul-de-sac, but on the doorstep of a good range of restaurants, cafes and a traditional French baker, the house is an ideal base to explore medieval Dinan and enjoy riverside walking, cycling or boating. Renovated with care, and furnished with taste, the house can cater for small or large parties to holiday in this wonderful part of Brittany. The accommodation comprises 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms ensuring all guests can enjoy a high level of privacy. There is a large enclosed patio area to the front of the house with barbecue, making it an ideal spot for relaxing and enjoying summer nights outside.

There is free WI FI broadband internet access at the house. There is an extra bed available for larger parties, by prior arrangement. Cot and high chair available by prior arrangement. Pets accepted by prior arrangement.
Outside
To the front of the property is an attractive patio area with an abundance of plants, barbecue and quality garden furniture. The area is enclosed and safe for children.
Parking.
Coast/Beach
The North coast is a 20 to 30 minute easy drive from Dinan. Where there are plenty of destinations to choose from, whether you enjoy sandy beaches, small intimate coves. From the historical walled city of St Malo town to the seaside resorts of Dinard and St Cast, to the stunning bay of St Briac and picturesque fishing peninsula of St Jacut or the dramatic lanscapes of Cap Frehel.
Also, the Rance Valley is a wonderful area of wildlife preservation, with pathways and picturesque fishing villages.
Golf
A number of golf courses are within easy access including Dinard, Le Tronchet, le Clos des Ormes, St Cast, St Michel de Plelan, Pleneuf Val André, all within 20 to 40 mins drive.
Travel
Dinard airport is about 20 minutes drive, home to Ryanair who offer very cheap flights form the UK. The ferry port of St Malo is also about half an hour by car. The ports of Cherbourg, Caen and Roscoff are all within 2 hours drive.
Distances
The world heritage site of Mont St Michel is an easy 35 minute drive away as is the regional capital Rennes. The Normandy landing beaches and historic Bayeux can be reached in 2 hours by car. Some visitors take a day trip to Paris on the high speed train link either from Dinan station or Rennes station, and have found it convenient and affordable.
Further details
Dinan has a wide range of good restaurants, bistros and traditional bars as well as boutiques and craft shops. The cultural life of the town is vibrant with a theatre and numerous artistic, sporting events and entertainments taking place right through the year. The highlight of the calendar is the Fete Des Remparts which takes place every 2 years - next scheduled for 2010. This is one of the biggest medieval festival in Europe and makes an unforgettable weekend.
Booking notes
A 25% deposit is needed to secure your booking, the balance payable 8 weeks before you arrive. A £200 refundable damages deposit is also payable, and is refunded within two weeks of your departure.

Firstly, many thanks for an excellent stay at Maison Madeleine. We had mixed weather of course but the house really made up for it. We much appreciated the stylishly decorated sitting areas and the terrace - very atmospheric. It's well equipped as well and Dinan Port and the river is beautiful whilst the town has lots of fascinations. It's a
good location to explore Brittany from too. - RP August 2007.
