This is a ground floor studio apartment, recently renovated to a high standard. Properties of this standard are not commonly found in French Ski Resorts. Although only a studio this property affords a comfortable living area to come back and relax in after a hard days skiing! Situated in the more tranquil Le Lavachet village of Tignes there are still plenty of amenities including a well stocked supermarket and boulangerie, as well as a good selection of bars and restaurants. More importantly there is easy access to the pistes, including one of the three free nursery slopes, and it's actually possible to put your ski's on directly outside the door to the apartment block! A regular and free shuttle bus also runs between Le Lavachet and the other two main villages of Tignes.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds.
Discounts of 10% are offered for anyone paying the full amount at time of booking! There is an additional cleaning and laundry charge of 50 euros to be paid in resort. For prices outwith the rental periods above please send an enquiry email.

Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday and although we would ask all guests to leave the apartment by 10am this is something that can be negotiated.

Bedrooms: This is a studio apartment so technically there are no bedrooms. It is equipped with a large (easily assembled) double sofa bed, one single bed and an additional single fold down bed. It can comfortably accommodate 3 adults or a family with children.
Bathrooms: One bathroom with a shower, toilet, sink and a washing machine for all those smelly ski socks!
Kitchen: New kitchen fully equipped with oven, hob, fridge, freezer, microwave and dishwasher. There is also a kettle and toaster.
Utility Room: The apartment comes with it's own ski locker located at the entrance of the block. Big enough for ski's and boots.
Living Rooms: The living area consists of one large corner sofa bed, a coffee table and a wall mounted LCD TV and DVD player, as well as a Playstation 2 for any "bad weather" days! There is also Cable TV with many stations including BBC Prime and Eurosport.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Linen will be provided with the property but customers are asked to provide their own towels. The property is cleaned once a week on transfer day and there is a 50 euro charge paid in resort for cleaning and laundry.

Accessibility
This property is on the ground floor and may be suitable for disabled skiers. There is a small block of steps (about 8) outside the block to reach the entrance and again about the same, this time going down, inside the block to reach the apartment door.

Outside
As this is a ground floor apartment there is no balcony but there is a door that opens up onto the outside.

Skiing
Tignes is linked with Val D'Isere and together they form the ski area of L' Espace Killy. One of the largest in Europe it has over 300km of pistes for all abilities. Although often regarded as a resort for intermediate to advance skiers there are 3 free nursery slopes and many suitable greens and blues where beginners can improve their skills. The resort caters well for children and family's and has some great ski schools with good English speaking instructors. If you are looking for something a bit more challenging then Tignes can certainly deliver on that front too. With great off-piste skiing and a good freestyle park there are also other adventure activities such as ice diving under the lake and paragliging! It's also worth pointing out here that Tignes has one of the best snow records in Europe, you can ski or board all year round on it's glacier!

Travel
The nearest airport is Chambery which has recently started accepting more scheduled flights. Most people fly to either Lyon or Geneva where a transfer can take anywhere from 3 and a half hours to about 5 depending wither you drive or take a bus. Both these airports have direct bus services running from outside the terminal. Those wishing to drive should note that there is NO FREE parking in Tignes! All parking is underground. An alternative way to travel is to take the Snow Train to Bourg!

Distances
You can easily ski over to Val D' Isere and the nearset town of Bourg St Maurice is about 30 minutes by car!

A 10% discount is offered on the price of the rental for anyone wishing to pay the full amount in advance at the time of booking! Please note that the 50 euro cleaning and laundry fee should be paid in resort in order to collect the key.
