L'Escale Chambres d'Hôtes. Our 200 year old property is on the corner of a square and the accommodation is in a separate house, connected to our main residence by a covered passageway. You can stop over with us for a night or more. Spend some time and visit your pick of the nearby châteaux, and return to us for a tasty four-course evening meal, prepared by our resident classically trained chef.

Notes on prices
Extra single bed in double bedroom, €10 per night.
All room prices are per room per night, and include continental breakfast.
Four-course evening meal, €20 per person, including 1/2 bottle of wine and coffee or tea.
A cot is available on request, free of charge.

Changeover day
Arrival after 3pm. Departure by 10.30am.

The comfortable double bedroom with oak beams and tiled floor, has a DVD player, a radio/CD player, a television (French programmes), a hair dryer and tea & coffee making facilities. This spacious bedroom is big enough for a single bed to be added, if required. You have direct access from the double room to the enclosed garden. There is also a single bedroom adjacent to the double bedroom which can be let to another member of the party, if needed. The single bedroom has a wardrobe and radio/CD player. The fully tiled bathroom has a walk-in shower, basin, bidet and WC. Your own private dining room is light and airy, the perfect place to enjoy your meals.

 

Notes on accommodation
All rooms have central heating. All linen and towels are provided.

Accessibility
Although not wheelchair accessible, the accommodation is on the ground floor and would be suitable for someone who can manage to climb a few steps.

Outside
Guests have use of an enclosed, secluded garden. In the warm Summer months, relaxing meals can be enjoyed outside.

Travel
Angers Airport - 35 mins drive, Tours Airport - 50 mins drive, Nantes Airport - 1 3/4 hrs drive, by TGV to Saumur 1 hr, plus shuttle bus between Nantes Station and Airport, 15 mins. Channel ports: Caen - 3 1/2 hrs, Boulogne - 5 1/2 hrs drive.

Distances
Saumur - 20 mins drive (Chateau, Cadre Noir, Saturday market and shopping). Angers - 35 mins drive (Chateau and shopping). Fontevraud - 30 mins drive (Abbey, final resting place of Richard the Lionheart, with amazing kitchen to view). Montsoreau - 25 mins drive (Chateau and beau village). Bourgeuil - 20 mins drive (Vineyards & Tuesday market).

A 50% deposit is required when booking, please (non refundable unless room can be re-let).
