Chez Bardon provides superb, light, spacious accommodation of two, two and four bedrooms, available for rent throughout the year. During mid and high season the property is available to rent as a whole comfortably accommodating parties of up to 23 people. Tranquil, rural location 12kms from the spa town of Jonzac, yet less than an hours drive from: Bordeaux, St Emilion, Cognac, Saintes and the lovely beaches around Royan. The property has a stunning façade, is south facing with pillars, gates, large walled garden and a pigeonier. Two of the properties are suitable for people with restricted mobility. We have a large games room with pool, darts and table tennis. The whole is set in a hectare of grounds with a large (non chlorine) pool. This is an ideal peaceful and relaxing location for families and individuals alike.

Changeover day
In high season the changeover day is Saturday. At other times of the year we can be more flexible.

Les Tournesols (4 Bedrooms, Sleeps 12)

The ground floor is tiled and level throughout, with wide doorways suitable for wheelchair users. French windows lead from the terrace in to a large sitting room with 2 three-seater sofas (one is a sofa bed) and several chairs. There is satellite tv and internet access. The kitchen is equipped with gas cooker & oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer,washing machine, microwave, coffee maker, etc. A wide hallway leads to the bathroom with roll-in shower & loo,then to the double bedroom. Upstairs there are 3 further bedrooms and a bathroom/loo. One very large room with a double bed & bunk beds, one room with 3 single beds and the third bedroom has both a double & one single bed. All the bedrooms are very spacious. |

The whole property is on ground floor level and suitable for wheelchair users. Spacious living/dining room with french windows onto the terrace, satellite tv and internet access. The kitchen is equipped with gas cooker & oven, washing machine, microwave, coffee maker etc. THere are 2 bedrooms, one double and one with 3 single beds. There is a large bathroom with roll-in shower. |

Accessibility
Le Petit Chai & the ground floor of Les Tournesols are suitable for people with restricted mobility.
Level tiled floors throughout, wide doorways and bathrooms with roll-in showers and handrails. There is ample level parking adjacent to the terraces and access to the pool area is also level.
WE do not have a "shower chair", or a "pool hoist".
Outside
The property is set in a hectare of lovely park, with large mature trees.
Each property has large terrace with plenty of seating and own bbq.
The pool area is enclosed for safety, with an attractive wooden fence and is very spacious with lots of sun beds, seats and shaded areas.
The pool is 5.5 by 11 metres with shallow steps at the roman end, it runs on a "salt-water" chlorination system, so is gentle on the eyes and skin.
The grounds are for all to enjoy and are not terribly "manicured" we have badminton, volleyball and soccer nets (if wanted).
Coast/Beach
We are 50 minutes drive from the lovely beaches around Royan, providing lots of activities for people of all ages and abilities.
Golf
There is a 12 hole golf course in Montendre (12km) with a new clubhouse.
This is affordable fun, not for the serious players.
Travel
The nearest airport is Bordeaux, 50 mins drive, La Rochelle is 1hr 30 mins drive, Bergerac 1hr 40 mins.
The rail links are excellent to Angouleme & Bordeaux.
Brittany Ferries go from Portsmouth to Caen (6hrs drive), Portsmouth to St Malo (4hrs 30 mins drive) and Plymouth to Roscoff (6hrs 20 mins drive).
Calais is 7 hrs 30 mins drive.
Distances
Nearest village with shops, post office & pharmacy is Ozillac, which is 5km from Chez Bardon.
There is a small grocery shop in Fontaine d'Ozillac and a bar which is just under 4km (5 mins drive) from here.
Chez Bardon is equal distance from both Jonzac & Montendre, ie: 12km, both with excellent supermarkets, shops, restaurants and markets.
Booking notes
We ask for a 25% deposit on booking to reserve the property.
The balance is due 6 weeks prior to the start date of the booking.
