Les Canardeaux is well equipped and comfortable in any season. The 8x4m pool has a security cover and alarm. French windows open onto a terrace overlooking the pool and next to the barbeque area whilst tall iron gates at the entrance to the courtyard provide privacy. The cottage is in the southern Loire Valley at the top of a peaceful hamlet overlooking farmland and surrounded by villages with restaurants, shops and local markets. You can walk to the nearby river where fishing is permitted. The cottage is ideal for exploring the beautiful countryside as well as the many attractions including the historic towns of Bourges and Issoudun, the Haute-Touche animal reserve and the zoo at Beauval. Fishing and horse riding are popular pursuits. Local oils are a speciality including walnut, hazelnut and rape seed. There are also excellent wines to be sampled, gardens to visit and the beautiful black donkeys are a great attraction for children and adults alike.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in euros. From May to September there are no extra charges. Everything is provided including towels, basic foodstuffs, toiletries, cleaning materials and a welcome pack of milk, bread, wine, biscuits, tea and coffee. There is a supplementary charge of 50 euros per week for logs and electricity from October to the end of April. Discounts are available for longer lets and for couples.
Changeover day
The changeover day is normally Saturday but mid-week arrivals are possible, except in July and August, and shorter lets are then also possible (minimum 3 days). Guests can arrive from 5 pm, and are asked to leave by 10 am on their departure day.

| Utility Room: | A small room upstairs houses the iron, ironing board, first aid kit and spare bulbs, batteries etc. |
| Living Rooms: | Open plan living area with comfortable leather settee and armchairs, satellite TV with built-in DVD player. Dining table for 6. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Bed linen, all towels including pool towels and after-stay clean are included. For longer bookings, beds are changed every Saturday when there is also a complimentary clean. |
Notes on accommodation
A cot and a high chair can be provided on request at no extra charge. Smoking is not allowed in the house but permitted in the garden provided cigarette butts are removed.

Outside
The 8m x 4m pool is solely for the use of Les Canardeaux guests. There are 4 sun loungers and 2 upright chairs surrounding the pool whilst the covered terrace next to the barbeque area overlooks the pool for easy supervision of children and has a fixed table with seating for 6.
Golf
The two 18-hole golf courses are about half an hour’s drive away to the west and east respectively, and there is a 9-hole course about 15 mins' drive to the north.
Travel
We are less than 6 hours from Calais and about 1 ½ hours from Limoges airport via a toll-free motorway (A20). Tours and Poitiers airports are both about 2 ¼ hours' drive.
A car is essential.

There are 3 supermarkets open on Sunday morning within a 20 minute drive of the house and a shop in the next village.
A bread van stops outside the cottage 3 mornings a week and there is a boulangerie in the village of Ambrault.
The nearest hypermarket is 25 minutes' drive on the outskirts of Chateauroux.
