Set in private courtyard with 54 acres of fields and woodland. Our 200 year old stone built traditional farmhouse is equipped with a modern touch, including a 12m x 6m outdoor heated swimming pool with integrated paddling pool. There are many on-site activities to keep children and adults fully occupied. Situated in the Perigord National Park, within 4km of Miallet, a small traditionally French village offering a full range of facilities. This quiet, tranquil setting is ideal to relax and unwind and enjoy the fantastic views and wildlife but within easy distance to many attractions, making the ideal holiday destination for all.

Changeover day
Rental is from Saturday 4pm to Saturday 10am, electricity, gas and water are inclusive for summer lets. Elecrtic is charged at cost for winter lets.
A refundable damage/security deposit will be requested.

Utility Room: Separate WC, washing machine, iron and ironing board, hoover and broom etc.
Living Rooms: Spacious area with sofas, satellite TV, radio/CD stereo and DVD player.
Other: The property has electric heating, ideal for winter lets (price of electric for winter lets is charged at cost).

All linen, bathroom towels and tea towels are included. Towels for the swimming pool are not provided, please bring you own.

 

Notes on accommodation
To the front of the gîte is a large covered terrace with a large table and chairs for outside dining. To the rear is a fenced garden laid to lawn with shrubs and trees. Very suitable for children, lots of on-site activities.

Accessibility
The ground floor includes the kitchen/dining area, lounge, 1 double bedroom with en-suite shower room. There are long steps leading up to the property and a step leading to the rear garden. Temporary wooden ramps are available. Please contact owners for more detailed information.

Outside
Outside we have a 12m x 6m heated swimming pool with integrated paddling pool, sun loungers, tables, chairs, sun umbrellas and pool toys. The pool area benefits from the all day sun and well into the evenings. There is a open barn for shade and barbecuing by the pool. We also have a large trampoline with safety netting, table tennis, boules, woodland (good for climbing trees), climbing frame and swings. Also why not make your own pizzas or bread in our traditional bread oven.

Special interest holidays
This area is very very popular with cyclists, whether you mountain bike or road cycle. For mountain bikers there are kilometers of off road tracks, passing by châteaux, lakes and the traditional French villages with their famous markets. The quiet, undulating roads make road cycling safe and a pleasure to ride. Close by we have a modified disused railway track very popular for families to cycle. We have, on site, 4 stables, 40x20m sand school, tack room, appox 20 acres of fields including field shelter and water. Why not treat your horse to a holiday. Please contact owner for rental prices. Kilometres of off road tracks thoughout the Perigord National Park.

Travel
Nearest airports - Limoges Airport 38km (approx 45mins) where Ryanair fly from Stansted, East Midlands and Liverpool. Flybe fly from Southampton.
Due to the location of the gite and local attractions a car is recommended.
For driving directions we can provided written directions on request.

Distances
The small village of Miallet is 4km away with a small shop, bakers, butchers, post office, bar/restaurant, church, chemist (English speaking) and doctor (English speaking). There are larger supermarkets in La Coquille (7km) and Chalus (8km).
At Maillet there is a barrage, a man made dam, ideal for walking or cycling with picnic area, lots of wildlife.

Brantôme - Known as Little Venice, a historic medieval market town, where the rivers Dordogne and Drone meet to surround the town. With its boutiques, restaurants, cafés and bars where you can relax and watch the activities on the rivers. Every friday is market day. Canoeing is very popular here. Well recommended for a visit.
Limoges - Situated on the riverside of the Vienne, with original settlements that date back to Roman Times, the city is known for its fine porcelain and painted enamelware, cultural activities and botanical gardens. The city recently celebrated its 2000th anniversary and is rich in cultural history with many museums, symphonies and theatres. Limoges is best known for its porcelain and fine china developed in the 18th century out of enamel work which began in the middle ages. Visit the many shops and tour the working factories.
