A large character farmhouse located in the Blavet Valley which has been sympathetically renovated and refurbished but retains many of the original features such as exposed beams, stone fireplace and wood floors. Ideal for a large party to live in (sleeps up to 13 adults comfortably) plus 3 cots, but without getting on top of one another as the property has two staircases. A rural location with an enclosed fenced garden and private heated fenced (French law) pool, patio, pergola, bbq with ample facilties for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

Changeover day
Saturday is changover day and departure time is 10.00 a.m. Arrival time is after 4.00 p.m. This allows for the property to be checked and linen changes etc. However, in low season, this may be negotiated for shorter or longer stays.

Utility Room: Washing machine, double sink, airers, brooms, etc.
Living Rooms: Large lounge with 3 large comfy sofas. Video, t.v., books, games. Original Breton stone fireplace. Original chestnut floor with variety of rugs.
Other: Longere which includes the kitchen and runs along the whole of the rear of the property. It also includes a 3 piece suite and football table. Tiled floor and 3 doors leading onto the patio and pool and bbq area.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Linen (except towels) is provided and changed on change-over day.

 

Notes on accommodation
The house has been well thought out and designed to provide ideal family accommodation. There are plenty of games, books, cycles, a swing and other facilities to occupy all members of the family, as well as the heated private pool which is fenced for safety. The patio area is large and extends along the whole of the rear of the property with an area under a pergola where you can enjoy leisurely meals under the wisteria.

Accessibility
The ground floor is all on one level having 2 bedrooms and a bathroom and can accommodate a wheelchair. However, there is a small step into the kitchen/longere and into the lounge. The property has been used by someone in a wheelchair previously.

Outside
Large well fenced garden with swing, laid to lawn. There is an area outside the fenced garden which can be used to play badminton. A large purpose built bbq looks out over the pool area and to open countryside as does the table and seating under the pergola which is covered in wisteria.

Coast/Beach
Oceanopolis in Brest - a big park full of 1,000 species of fish. Sharks, seals and penguins can be seen here.
Gulf of Morbihan (which means "the little sea"). Carnac and Trinite-sur-Mer. Quimper and Quiberon.

Golf
There are 5 golf courses in the close vicinity including a championship course at Sain Laurent. They range from Val Queven, described as one of the best courses in western France to Baden which has a variety of landscapes including the sea (Gulf of Morbihan).

Special interest holidays
Holidays for golfers can be arranged by negotiation.

Travel
Use of car is essential but the property is within 1 kilometre of the motorway and very easy to find whilst enjoying a rural location. Approximately 2 hours drive from St Malo and 3 hours from Caen or Cherbourg (motorway all the way).

Distances
The market town of Baud is five minutes drive away and has shops which provide all the basic necessities and has 2 supermarkets and bakers, butcher, restaurants, pertol stations etc.

Further details
There is an archaeology centre at Melrand. You can go go-karting between Josselin and Ploermel - 500 metres from the motorway. Food lovers will enjoy the wonderful restaurants, local seafood and Breton specialities of gallettes and crepes. Pontivy a pretty town with the Castle Rohen to visit. Pol-Fetan is one of the most interesting places to visit and you can go back in time to the 16th century. Auray a town of "art and history" at the old port of St Goustan by the river Loc'h. Enjoy the markets in Hennebont which also houses the Nationa Stud for the Breton horse, Lorient which has a big market in the centre of the town.

Booking notes
A booking will be reserved and is confirmed when a 25% deposit is received. The full balance and a £150 refundable breakage deposit is then due six week before the holiday date and at that time further details of the property and directions etc will be provided.
