There is also a large kitchen/diner with window overlooking back of property, all newly fitted, cupboards,sink, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, electric grill, small hob plates. Leading out to small utility room/toilet and outside door. This property stands in approximately 6.5 acres, including a small wood to the rear of the property, with a tree swing and bench, one of many spots to enjoy a gin and tonic watching that sun go down. | |
Notes on accommodation
The property has gaz central heating. Freestanding fans in all bedrooms. The pool is fitted with an alarm which must be activated when the pool is not in use. Plastic glasses are for your safety to use around the pool. The pool will be cleaned on alternate days. The cutting of the grass and watering of plants will be kept to a minimum in order not to disturb guests.
High quality bedlinen and towels are included, plus fresh linen provided weekly. A welcome pack is also included. English speaking caretakers on call for advice or assistance.
Accessibility
From the car park the terrace and gardens are accessible without steps through to the Old Dairy apartment, the main Farmhouse has a step at the entrance and 2 steps up to the kitchen.
Outside
The stunning property is set on high ground with superb views of the undulating countryside. There is a covered terrace complete with gas BBQ. Good quality table and chairs. There is a large swimming/diving pool, with deep end, surrounded by loungers and parasols. What better way to end the day with a chilled glass or 2 watching the beautiful sunset and Deer grazing for their supper. The area is surrounded by flowers, palm tree, fig trees, potted plants and hanging baskets. Fishing and horse riding locally. Owing to the property having a diving pool and surrounding terrain children must be supervised.
Coast/Beach
It takes approximately 2 hours to drive to the Atlantic Coast and the Mediterranean approximately 3.5 hours, very good motorways. Both Bergerac and Agen have waterparks, where it is possible to pre book.
Golf
A 10 minute drive takes you to the beautiful scenic Villeneuve Golf and Country Club, Championship golf course with fine views and a fine restaurant and bar, also a driving range and practice area. Boating on the River Lot. Fishing permits available locally. Horse riding nearby.
Travel
The nearest airport is Bergerac, about 40 mins drive, used by Ryanair and Flybe etc. Hire cars can be booked in advance. It is necessary to have a car here in order to fully enjoy what the region has to offer. Also within travelling distance of both Bordeaux and Toulouse Int Airports, approx 2 hours and Toulouse 1.5 hours respectively. TGV train from Lille to Agen (Agen about 25 mins). From Calais the drive is about 9 hours.
Distances
Best of both worlds, we are in the Country BUT we are only about 5 mins drive to the town of Villeneuve sur Lot with many superb restaurants and shops, markets and large supermarkets, cinema and theatre. In the summer months there are free riverside concerts/dancing. Many towns have night markets (not to be missed) and have your food cooked by the market vendors huge steaks on equally huge BBQs). Local festivals of all kinds throughout the summer - great fun.
Further details
The nearest bank and cash machine is situated a short drive from here in the small village of Eysses. There are also many local shops here from boulangerie to poissonnerie and delicatessen. There are also cash machines at the local supermarkets and of course in the town of Villeneuve sur Lot.
