It is about 5 minutes walk from the Barbossine area where you will find a ski lift and free bus service, local baker, newsagent, launderette, hotels and ski hire. The flat is fully equipped, with cellar for ski equipment and parking at the entrance to the building. It is about 15 minutes walk downhill to the village centre where there are excellent restaurants and bars. Chatel is a friendly place. Its charm comes from being a living village which offers ski facilities rather than being a purpose built resort. It is a beautiful place in summer too and offers walking, cycling, golf, tennis, white water rafting, paragliding and more.

The apartment is available all year round: for dates/availability please use email contact address. For mid-week bookings a surcharge will be made. 10% discount for 3 weeks or more. All prices include electricity (constant hot water) and the cost of cleaning the apartment on leaving.
Changeover day
Saturday is changeover day. Please vacate the apartment by 10am. Please do not arrive before 4pm to allow cleaning.
| Bedrooms: | Bedroom with one double bed and chest of drawers and storage space, coin montagne with bunk beds and a sofa bed in the living area. Not really suitable for 6 adults, more for 4 adults and two children but ideally a family of four. |
| Bathrooms: | The bathroom has a bath with shower: heater. The toilet is separate. |
| Kitchen: | The kitchen is part of the living area and has a oven, hob and fridge. It has a full range of cooking equipment. |
| Living Rooms: | The lounge has a double sofa, coffee table, corner unit with TV/DVD/CD, dining table with integral chairs, bookcase with somebooks, games, CDs and jigsaws. TV is best used with DVDs and CDs, as signal cannot be guaranteed. |

Notes on accommodation
We do not restrict heating (radiators) or hot water. The apartment is child friendly with a TV (see above) and DVD player which also plays CDs. There is a variety of games and jigsaws.
Accessibility
Although, technically, wheelchair users could access the apartment, it is not recommended.
Outside
There is a small terrace overlooking the village and the Alps.
Golf
Several golf courses from 30 mins to an hour's drive.
Skiing
The property is in the Portes du Soleil area which offers the whole range of skiing opportunities from beginners to advanced. there are four main ski-lift access points: one close to the flat (the Barbossine); one in the village (Super Chatel); one at Linga and the others at Pre la Joux. free buses run frequently all day and early evening.Toddlers are catered for at local nursery/ski schools and there are several excellent ski schools offering a full range of classes for ability and type of instruction.
Travel
Chatel is 8 hours drive from Calais and about an hour and a half from Geneva airport. A number of Chatel companies do airport transfers.There is a free bus service in the area to and from the slopes. It is a personal choice whether or not to have a car.
Distances
The appartment is about 15/20 minutes walk to the centre of the village (longer on the way back as it is uphill). There is a swimming pool and cinema in Chatel and spas nearby. Lake Leman, Evian, Montreux are all within an hour's drive.
Further details
Chatel centre has several banks, butchers, bakers, very good restaurants and bars. There are also pottery and fancy goods shops, nice wine markets, takeaway pizza restaurants and one small supermarket. There is a large Intermarche on the outskirts, about 5 minutes drive from the centre.
Booking notes
Provisional booking primarily after which the booking form will be sent, to be returned within 7 days with a 25% non-returnable deposit. A breakages deposit of £150 is required which will be returned intact if not needed after inspection of the flat. Final balance will be due 6 weeks before departure.

About the owner
We live in Chichester but hail originally from Dundee. We have four adult children and five grandchildren. We have skied for over twenty years, almost always in Chatel. We enjoy summer in Chatel too, spending as much time as possible there.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We had been skiing twice a year in Chatel for fifteen years and had deliberated long enough about buying. We decided to take the plunge and have not regretted it. Summer is wonderful too. We like it as much as the ski season.
Unique benefits of the property
The flat is easily managed, small but cosy and we keep it well equipped. The area of Petit Chatel is sunny and bright all day long. There are essential shops close by and the village is not too far.
