La Ferme des Montaigu is the perfect place to come and relax with us in the idyllic Normandy countryside. Newly renovated in 2007 to an extremely high standard. 'La ferme Des Montaigu' is set in 3 acres of beautiful grassland, orchards and gardens, for everyone to relax and enjoy. The beautiful grounds have a variety of apple, pear and walnut trees to mention a few, together with our home grown organic vegetables and herbs for our guests to enjoy. Our chickens, ducks, turkeys and rabbit enjoy the freedom of our enclosed orchard, and supply all our eggs for our homemade cakes, desserts and of course breakfast. There are beautiful breathtaking views of the countryside our house is situated so you can view the 'Etang Des Montaigu' (the lake), where you can fish and relax at your leisure on our doorstep. The beautiful valleys and woods are abounding with wild life including deer, wild boar, birds of prey and red squirrels.

Changeover day
You will be able to access all rooms from 2pm on arrival and checkout is at 11am on day of departure.
Notes on accommodation
We have a private residents lounge and dining room so you may relax after a long days sightseeing. There is a TV, DVD, video and music centre for our guests, we also have a selection of books and magazines. Whilst staying at 'La Ferme Des Montaigu', Why not be tempted by our homemade cooking, we offer a 5 course menu for 20 euros per person and include a complimentary bottle of wine for 2. All meals will be served in the dining room overlooking the beautiful Normandy valley.
Outside
Within the garden area there is a shared above ground swimming pool, trampoline, a field big enough to play football or even practise your golf swing. We have a BBQ area, chairs, loungers and tables for you to chill out and enjoy the whole Normandy experience.
Coast/Beach
There are some fabulous beaches right on our doorstep, Brehal, Granville, Jouleville and many more about 10-20 mins away. Also only an hours drive away is the D Day landing beaches, museums and memorials, that must be seen.
Special interest holidays
There are many activities in the area to include walking, golf, fishing, (at the lake), horse riding, bird watching and cycling (bicycles provided). Right on our door step is the Beautiful market town of 'Villedieu Les Poeles', well known for its Bell Foundry and Copper making, and its excellent weekly market is a must, a mere 40 min drive away is the famous 'Le Mont St Michel', Granville and Cancale these are just to mention a few. For the little ones, there is Camprepus Zoo, karting, bowling, maize, Festyland and much more.
Travel
We are on the outskirts of the small Hamlet of 'Montaigu Les Bois', 5 mins from the town of, 'Villedieu Les Poeles' and 'Gavray'. There are regular ferries from Portsmouth and Poole to Cherbourg and Caen, Le Harve & St Malo. Also Newhaven to Le Harve and Dieppe and Dover to Bolougne.The Eurostar runs daily from London to Caen via the channel tunnel. There are regular flights from Stansted and East Midlands to Dinard, Manchester, Edinburgh to Rennes and also from Newcastle and Edinburgh to Paris.

Further details
Villedieu offers a selection of shops, supermarkets, banks, cash machines, swimming pool, restaurants and every Tuesday is the local market and it is only 5 min away in the car.

All bookings can be made by either phone or email. There is a 20% reservation deposit payable on reservation. We will confirm your bookings by e-mail or writing once we have received your deposit.

Fabulous welcome from the first cup of tea when we arrived to the last hand shake when we left.
Our girls loved their bedroom, as did we ours. It was a pleasure to come back at the end of each days exploring. A very relaxing experience.
The breakfast was excellent and beautifully laid out, and the evening meals are highly recommended as excellent quality and will be hard to beat in terms of value for money.
The location was exactly what we were looking for to explore Mont St Michel; Mortain, Bayeaux etc. A very easy drive from Le Havre, and within easy reach of anywhere we wanted to go. All in all a very enjoyable holiday and we look forward to returning to explore more of Normandy.
