The Manor House at Barat offers uncompromising French rural luxury coupled with contemporary convenience in a country setting. With 35 acres of private woodland as a backdrop, outdoor dining and lazing by the pool is the natural focus at Barat. Barat is ideally located to visit the famous vineyards of St Emilion, the historic towns of Périgueux, Bergerac and Castillion la Bataille, the city of Bordeaux and the prehistoric caves of Lascaux. Also close by is a lakeside beach resort. La Chaumiere, a 1 bedroom entirely self contained annex, is included in the weekly rental. La Chaumiere includes a lounge/kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and open area off the lounge which can sleep an additional 4 persons if required.

Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds. Prices include the Maison de Maitre (4 beds) and the attached annex (1 or 2 beds). Quality linen and towels are provided. Cleaning prior to arrival and after departure is included. Linen change and additional cleaning can be arranged locally.

Notes on accommodation
Barat contains both the Maison de Maitre (4 beds) and La Chaumiere (1/2 bed annex). La Chaumiere is included in the rental price and is not let separately. La Chaumiere offers a fully equipped kitchen, cosy living space with separated additional sleeping area, a large double bedroom, bathroom and private patio area. La Chaumiere is perfect for members of the party who may require some independence or additional privacy from the main party.

Accessibility
The Maison de Maitre is over 2 floors and is not suitable for wheelchair use. The attached La Chaumiere is however on a single story and offers easy access to both the living areas and the bedroom on level ground.
Outside
Barat is very secluded and offers complete privacy and is ideal for children. The pool (new for 2008) can be seen entirely from the patio from which 4 steps lead down to the pool area. Parents can therefore maintain a quieter area while children play around the pool in clear view. Additional patio areas around the pool offer the choice to spend time poolside as well. The large lawns provide ample space for all types of ball sports and the 35 acres of private woodland offers the opportunity for exploration.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beach is on the West side of Bordeaux, approx 90 mins drive.
Golf
First class golf is available at Chateua de Vigiers 30 mins.

Bergerac 30 mins. Bordeaux 60 mins.
