La Chapelle D’Abondance is a traditional Savoyard village, where the monks still make the Abondance cheese to an ancient recipe. There are various shops, a tourist information centre, cafes, bars, restaurants and a cinema. The village is a beautiful location for your Alpine escape in both summer for walking and climbing and in the winter for all of the winter sports.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds.
Low seasons: 3 May - 28 June 2008 and 30 August - 20 December 2008 £350 per week.
Summer High Season: 28 June - 30 August 2008 £450 per week.
All prices include a bath towel and a hand towel for each person and all bedlinen. If you use the sofa bed as a bed then there will be an additional charge of £25 for extra linen and cleaning costs.
Changeover day
The rental period commences on a Saturday at 4pm until the following Saturday, until 10am. However the changeover day is flexible if at all possible.
| Bedrooms: | Bedroom 1 with a double bed, fitted wardrobes and a balcony. Bedroom 2 with twin beds and fitted wardrobes. Travel cot available. |
| Bathrooms: | Bathroom 1 has a large bath/shower and separate toilet. Bathroom 2 has a shower and toilet. |
| Kitchen: | The kitchen has a fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, hob and convection cooker. Fully equipped to make your stay as pleasurable as possible. There will be a welcome basket on arrival which will include a few essentials for your stay. |
| Utility Room: | Iron, ironing board, hoover, dust pan and brush. |
| Living Rooms: | There are 2 large three seater sofas, one of which can fold down to make a double bed. There is a also a leather chair to ensure the room sits 6 comfortably. There is a LCD TV, DVD player and board games. The dining table sits six. |
| Other: | There are 2 balconies with the apartment. The double bedroom balcony looks out to the Swiss Alps and the main balcony, which is off the sitting room looks out to the ski slopes, a perfect settling for sundowners. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Towels and bed linen are provided with the accommodation and are included in the cost. If you require the sofa bed to be used as a bed there will be an additional charge of £25 to cover extra linen and cleaning costs. |
Notes on accommodation
There is a garage located under the property which can be used throughout your stay. This will be a perfect location to store the ski equipment or mountain bikes. There is a lift to the apartment which ensures that you do not need to drag any suitcases up the stairs.
Outside
On the balcony there is a table and two chairs for sun downers with an amazing view.
Coast/Beach
The apartment is 35 mins from Lake Geneva at Thonon-Les-Bains, where you can sail, swim and go to the pebble beach. The pool at Chatel has the most amazing views and is a wonderful location in the summer to cool down and have a family picnic.
Skiing
The local ski domain is within walking distance from the apartment, where you can find slopes suitable for beginners and intermediates. The lifts have been replaced for the ski season 2007/2008. La Panthiaz gondola gives you access to the Porte du Soleil ski domain and is only a 10-15 min walk or 5 min by ski bus. La Chapelle offers you the best of both worlds - stunning surroundings and easy access to both the Swiss and French sides of the Porte du Soleil, which includes the resorts of Châtel, Torgon, Morgin, Avoriaz and Morzine. From here you can access the full 650km range, which has 289 pistes, 208 ski lifts, 51km of cross country trails and 40kms of waymarked winter walks. Nearest large ski resort: La Châtel 5km away. The resort offers the perfect balance for both young skiers/boarders an families with young children, as the slopes are as challenging as you wish to make them.
Travel
Geneva is the closest airport and is 66 km from La Chapelle D'abondance. This will take you about 90 mins to drive. Car hire is easy to arrange from Geneva airport. You can travel by Eurotunnel (Le Shuttle) to Thonon les Bains. From here you may wish to either hire a car or get the local bus to the resort. If you drive from Calais the journey will take you approx 8-9 hrs.
Distances
The nearest town is La Châtel, five minutes away. Here you will find a bustling atmosphere, vibrant bars, many restaurants, gift shops, a large supermarket, snow park, snowshoe hiking, ice rink (winter only), gym, cinema, outdoor pool (Summer only), and open air concerts. The spa resort of Evian is only 35 mins away and you can drive to lots of other resorts such as Chamonix and Morzine for walking and skiing.
Booking notes
To book please complete and return the signed booking form, along with a deposit of 25% or the full amount and security deposit, if booking within 8 weeks of departure. Payment is to be made by cheque (cheques made payable to: Mrs J Ashman). Please send the refundable security deposit of £100 by cheque 8 weeks before departure. The security deposit will be returned by post within 2 weeks of the final day of the holiday provided the apartment is left clean and without damage.
