The house is conveniently located in the NE of France about 6 hours drive from Calais and about 75 minutes from the cities of Nancy, Strasbourg and Basel. Paris is about 4 hours. Closer to home the town of Gerardmer is 10 minutes away and offers everything from shops and restaurants to downhill skiing and a huge lake with facilities for bathing and boating etc. The accommodation itself is spacious, very bright and well equipped. It is warm and cosy in the winter having central heating and a large wood burning stove but cool and airy in the summer. Spread over 3 floors 2 double and 2 family bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and fully equipped fitted kitchen. Spacious games room with safe darts, full size table tennis and junior snooker table. Workshop/drying room with washing machine and large garage - essential when the snow comes! Very private with large gardens and driveway surrounding the property.

Changeover day
Bookings are generally Saturday 4pm - 10am Saturday. However we try as hard as possible to be flexible with people particularly where no other guests are due before or after - speak to us first!

| Utility Room: | Washing machine and heated drying area on ground floor. Snow blower for quick winter driveway clearance is very easy to use and essential with regular large snowfalls. |
| Living Rooms: | Large L shape living/dining room with extendable dining table seating 10. Twin sofas focused around wood burner for a cosy and warm glow with enough heat output to heat the whole house. Antique clock and dresser. Access to balcony via large sliding doors. |

Bed linen is now generally supplied per stay but towels are the responsibility of the guest. House is cleaned before arrival and upon departure but must be left generally clean and tidy with all rubbish/food removed. |

Skiing
Extensive ski station at La Bresse Hohneck is the largest ski facility in the NE of France and is only 15 minutes drive away with ample free parking. Further less extensive ski facilities can also be found in Gerardmer. Roads are kept clear and are safe to drive but snow chains are occasionally needed.
Travel
A short drive over La Schluct and you will find yourself in the Vineyards of the Alsace where you can sample world renowned wines and discover a richly historical area. Drop in to the lovely town of Munster on the way to smell and taste the cheese! Within 90 mins drive you can be in the Black Forest in Germany or in the far west of Switzerland. In fact the France-German-Swiss border meets at the Euro airport at Basle with frequent flights from the UK
Booking notes
A 200 deposit is required to secure a booking and covers damages and additional cleaning costs where the property is left in a poor state. The deposit is returned no later than 2 weeks after departure providing all is in order. The full balance of the holiday is due 1 month before arrival.
