In the village of Montpellier de Medillan, between Saintes and the beaches of Saint Georges-de-Didonne/Royan, we are ideally situated for exploring the beautiful coasts and towns of the Charente Maritime, where there is everything you could ever want in a holiday. Two and three bedroom quality gites and bed and breakfast, sharing a 10 x 5m heated swimming pool, which is set in three acres of garden. Each gite is fully equipped with internet connection, Satellite TV and its own enclosed garden. In the games room is a table tennis, darts and lots more. "Ma Cagouille" is only 20 minutes from the beach. The accommodation is also suitable for long let, having central heating, satellite TV. The two bedroom gite also has a wood burner.

The accommodation sleeps 4 people and is well equipped with everything to make your holiday comfortable. Entrance to lounge/diner with comfortable settees, table and chairs, internet, Satellite, TV, DVD Player and radio cassette/CD. Kitchen which is equipped to a very high standard, dishwasher, full size cooker, microwave, washing machine and fridge freezer. French doors to private garden. Bedroom one has twin beds and a wardrobe. Bedroom two has a king size bed, bedside cabinets and a wardrobe. Bathroom - bath with shower over, wash basin and WC. Separate WC. All bed linen are provided. Outside is a lovely private garden, with access via a gate to the 3 acre of shares garden with pool. |

Bed and Breakfast

We have two bed and breakfast rooms. One room has a king size bed and a single bed, a double wardrobe, two chairs and a little fridge. There are tea and coffee making facilities. The room has an en-suite shower room. . The other room has a double bed, double wardrobe, tea and coffee making facilities and an en-suite shower room. . Our guests have full use of the garden, swimming pool and games room. A BBQ, garden table is located behind the pool for them to use , and they can also find a big fridge , plastic plates and have the possibility to do the washing up in the playing room. A continental breakfast is included in the price. Which consists of tea, coffee or hot chocolate, toast, cakes, fruit, yoghurt, cereal and fruit juice (all "home made"). |

Notes on accommodation
The gites have central heating and our two bedroom gite has a wood burner, we have satellite TV, internet, storage facilities, making our properties ideal for long winter let (from September to the end of May), at an all inclusive cost of €650 per month (2 bedroom gite) and €700 for the 3 bedrooms.

Outside
Each gite has its own enclosed garden with access via a gate to the shared three acre grounds, there is football, swings, boule and in the games room is table tennis, darts and lots more. You will also find bikes in the games rooms for you to use. Set in the grounds is a 10 x 5m heated swimming pool and sun terrace, with sun loungers and table and chairs.
Coast/Beach
The Charente Maritime is everything you could ever want in a holiday. Sandy beaches that go on for miles, with interesting coves and calm waveless family bathing spots to the fiercest surf for the sporty. A wonderful climate second only to the Cote d' Azur with up to twice as much sunshine as the UK and most months 20-30 degrees warmer. St Jean d'Angely has an excellent water park with 5 swimming pools, water slides.
Golf
There are 3 excellent golf courses, Royan Saintes and Cognac all within a short drive. Your rounds of golf will be booked in advance and you will be given details and directions to the courses. Your stay will include breakfast. Evening meal is also available. You can book a weekend or a week with as many rounds of Golf as you like, you decide, the choice is yours. Distances
In our village is a butchers/grocers with a depot de Pain and a medical centre. In the village of Meursac 3 miles is a wonderful restaurant named "La Table", also a pharmacy, butchers, grocers and tabac. There is also a very good tennis court. The lovely town of Saintes is 12 miles and the beaches of St Georges-de-Didonne are also 12 miles. The nearest supermarket is in Cozes 7 miles where you will also find the nearest filing station and bank.
Further details
With an abundance of history Pons, Saintes and Rochefort are all within easy reach, or if you prefer La Rochelle and Royan with its many restaurants serving the finest food and wine. The vineyards famous for Cognac and Pineau are a sight to behold and the tasting is even better. A tour of the many cognac houses is a must. Saintes is a beautiful Roman town with wonderful architecture, narrow streets, interesting shops and street cafes. It still has traces of its Gallo-Roman past such as the Roman Amphitheatre. You can take boat rides down the Charente River which runs through the town where there are lovely parks, bars and cafes which run along its banks. St Jean d’Angely has an excellent water park with 5 swimming pools, water slides etc. There is also canoeing, kayaking, pedaloes and fishing. Here you’ll find lovely old buildings and cobbled streets, lots of quaint shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. There is a market on Wednesday and Saturday morning. Rochefort has good shopping and a nice town square where you can sip a drink or two! La Rochelle an ancient walled port town with arcaded streets. Two towers over look the old port. There is also a beach and an excellent Aquarium. This is the place for seafood, where masses of restaurants line the harbour, a great place to have a meal and people watch. The natural history museum is also recommended. La Rochelle is a great place for boutique style shops. Modern Royan is one of the largest seaside resorts in FraFrance. You can hire sailing boats at the Marina and take a trip around the bay. If you are here is July don’t miss the international music festivals. Saint Georges-de-Didonne has a great beach with dunes and pine trees. There are three lovely islands off the Charente Maritime coast: Ile d’Aix (no cars so a great place for cycling and walking), Ile d’Oleron (access by two mile long viaduct), Ile de Ré (where the French celebs go for their holidays).
