This recently renovated farmworkers cottage with south facing views over the Charentes countryside has 2 large bedrooms, both en-suite with shower, WC and wash basin. The second bedroom can be equipped with a double bed making the cottage suitable for 2 couples or 2 single beds for family accommodation. The cottage has been renovated to a high standard during 2005/6 but still maintains all the charm of property in the area. Both large bedrooms still have the original old oak beams exposed that add to their character.

Changeover day
Our changeover day is normally Saturday. However in the off seasons we can be very flexible.
Accommodation
| Bedrooms: | Both bedrooms are south facing and catch all the sunshine on offer in this the second sunniest region of France. Bedroom 1 has a double bed, Bedroom 2 has two single beds. [these can be changed for one double bed making this gite suitable for two couples] |
| Bathrooms: | Both bedrooms are en suite and equiped with WC, sink and shower. |
| Kitchen: | The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you would expect including a dish washer. |
| Utility Room: | We have a games room on site which faces away from the cottages and has a magnificent uninterrupted views over the countryside. To take advantage of the landscape there is also a large terrace area there and a large BBQ. |
| Living Rooms: | The lounge still has its working Charentais fireplace with woodburning stove making it cosy for out of season holidays. It is equipped with satellite TV, DVD player and a CD player. A wi-fi Internet broadband connection is also available. |
| Other: | The cottage has its own private patio area, with outside table and chairs, a sun shade and a BBQ. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Our rates include all linen and towels, changed weekly. A welcome pack is also provided. |

Outside
The cottage shares a 10 metre (33ft) by 5 metre (16ft) heated, chlorine free swimming pool with our other small gite. The pool has a constant depth of 1.2 metres (4ft) and is fully enclosed by a wall for privacy and conforms to the very high French safety standards for pools.
The pool is surrounded by a very large patio area where ample sun loungers and parasols are provided. and has a stunning view over the local countryside
4 adult bicycles are available to borrow.
Parking for your car or motorbike is undercover.
Golf
Montendre (8km west) our local little town, has 2 supermarkets and a street market on Thursday morning. During July and August the highlight of the week is the evening market (marche nocturne) on Tuesdays, here you can eat and shop at the same time and watch the free street entertainment, bliss.
The town also has a 9 hole golf course.
Further details
Our nearest village is Chevanceaux 5km which has some small supermarkets, bakeries and a lovely restaurant. Montendre is just 8km away and has 2 large supermarkets and a number of restaurants.
