A simple, well converted stone barn in a small hamlet. Located in a 'petit hameau' overlooking the Charente/Dordogne border. Comfortably furnished. 4km from village of Saint Severin which offers bakery, bank, supermarket, garden centre, hotel and restaurant. Ideal for exploring the cultural heritage of SW France.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds.
Short breaks are calculated on 1/7th of the weekly rate plus 10%. Discount of 10% offered to couples using one room only. Winter lets can be arranged at a discount depending on length of stay.
Changeover day
Preferred changeover day is Saturday but this can be flexible if other bookings allow. Arrival after 3pm. Departure by 10am.

Outside
South facing private garden - plenty of sun all day although the tree gives some shade and there is a large parasol with stand supplied. Garden furniture and BBQ.
Coast/Beach
River beach at Aubterre approx 5 miles. Large Swimming Pools in Riberac and Verteillac. Large Watersports complex at La Jemaye with supervised swimming area, forest trail, exercise/work out trail and restaurants. Free and plentiful parking. Nearest coastal beach at Royan, approx 70 miles - worth the journey just for the beautiful beaches.
Golf
9 hole course at Aubterre approx 5 miles. Another 9 hole at St Aulaye which offers a superb 'brunch' on Sundays. 18 hole course at Perigeux approx 25 miles.
Travel
Nearest airports are Bergerac (Ryanair from Stansted, East Midlands, Exeter) and Angouleme (Ryanair from Stansted). 8 hours from Calais (Frethune) depending on weather and traffic. Use of car essential.
Distances
Saint Severin 4km, Riberac 12km, 5 Market towns within 40 mins drive. Angouleme 60km.

Prehistoric caves at Lascaux and Ruffignac. Roman remains and churches in the location; Typically perigordian architecture in Brantome plus excellent Friday market; Interesting French markets nearly every day of the week in the surrounding area, the nearest being Riberac on Fridays. Canoeing, horse riding, swimming, golf and walking.
Booking notes
Book by email or phone direct with owner. 20% discount for parties of two, sharing one room. All linen and towels included in rental. £100 refundable deposit is held against any accidental breakages and cleaning should the property not be left in an acceptable state. 25% of rental at time of booking, remainder to be paid 6 weeks before rental starts.
