Tastefully Renovated Idyllic Stone-Built Cottage
Rural Location Between the Northern Beaujolais and Southern Burgundy
Sleeps 4/6 (2 Bedrooms)
|
|
Nestled along a beautiful country footpath leading off from the main hamlet, our pretty stone cottage has no immediate neighbours. Facing south the views are of rambling countryside and pine forests. The house has been entirely renovated and decorated with much thought, the result is a very natural feel that fits the setting with of course all the modern comforts. This is an ideal place to get away from the 'rat race' and recharge one's batteries. The region also offers a myriad of different activities, wine tasting, walking, cycling, fishing, visiting castles, museums, Roman churches and gardens to name but a few.

Outside
The stone terrace outside the house with small table and chairs is the ideal spot for enjoying the view and a glass of wine. A more ample outside eating and barbecue area exists under the shade of the trees to the west of the house. A little path leads up from there to the higher part of the garden where there is another siting area and a door leading to the mezzanine.

About the owner
I am English but have lived in France for the last 20 years, my husband is an organic wine-maker and I am a herbalist, we have seven children ranging from the age of 22 down to 5. We live a simple, rural life taking the time for the good things in life such as family meals and nature.
Year purchased: 2004
Why the owner chose a home in this location
We bought the cottage in 2004 as we wanted somewhere to get away from it all, to us that meant somewhere where there were no vines. It is only 25 minutes away from our wine domaine but it is completely different, it has a special calmness about it and we are able to switch off and relax every time we go to the cottage.
Unique benefits of the property
The cottage is in the middle of a small hamlet but down its own little lane, this way it is not isolated but it has no immediate neighbours either. It is well situated for visiting both Burgundy and the Beaujolais regions as it is nestled between the two.
