Morillon Les Esserts is a small village of modern apartment blocks on the ski slopes accessed by a modern road which is regularly snow ploughed and gritted. There is a large free public car park and all the facilities you need for your holiday are on the doorstep - well stocked Sherpa supermarket, bakery, ski hire shops, lift pass office, ski school, creche, restaurants and pub. The large, spacious and airy big apartment (82 sq m) is on the top 4th floor, accessible by lift, and has a SW balcony and aspect - a special feature is the double height sitting room with a wood burning stove. The hi-spec mid-sized (55 sq m) apartment faces onto the pistes with a great view. The comfortable and cosy little apartment (25 sq m) faces north east and has spectacular views of the mountains at the end of the valley. In summer Les Esserts transforms into an attractive summer location for mountain biking, walking, swimming, rafting, horse riding, tennis, parascending, golf and sightseeing.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the properties per week for the 2011-12 season in UK pounds. Long weekends are charged on an approximately pro rata basis, plus a small surcharge, depending on the number of days/nights required. Booking Deposit: £200. An additional damages deposit of £75 for Little and £100 for Big/Mid, taken when the balance is paid, is returned when keys returned/apartment left clean/tidy).

Changeover day
Normal changeover is Saturday midday. But, we are flexible and where possible recommend Sunday for cheaper flights & to avoid the rush at airports, on the roads & arriving at the resort. We can also offer long weekends and mid week starts as available.

Notes on accommodation
All 3 apartments are heated by electric radiators. The big apartment is ideally suited for 7, with an occasional 8th person. The mid-sized apartment is ideally suited for 6. The little apartment is ideally suited for a family with 2 children or an occasional 5th person.
No-smoking inside apartments, please. OK to smoke on the balconies.

Accessibility
The big apartment is accessible by lift and there are bedroom and bathroom facilities on the ground floor of this apartment. The mid-sized apartment and the little apartment are only accessible by stairs.

Outside
The big and mid-sized apartments have a balcony with table and chairs for alfresco eating in the summer.

Coast/Beach
In summer, there are several lakes in the area for swimming, e.g. Lakes Geneva and Annecy - about an hours drive.

Golf
There are several golf courses in the vicinity for use in the summer season.

Skiing
Morillon Les Esserts is on the slopes of the Le Grand Massif Ski Area. Le Grand Massif is made up of 5 linked resorts: Morillon, Flaine, Samoens, Les Carroz and Sixt. There are 265 km of ski runs catering for all levels from Nursery Slopes to challenging Blacks. We have been skiing in Le Grand Massif for over 20 years and, despite global warming, we have always skied! The area has a good record for snow and in recent years has built up a good back up of artificial snow machines. Morillon Les Esserts has all the facilities you need in a Ski Resort, all on your doorstep - Ski School, ski hire, lift pass office, Jardin D'Enfants with creche and kiddies' fun ski area next to the nursery slopes. High speed lifts up to the top of Morillon and skiing in Morillon itself (green, blues, reds and blacks) and then links to the other areas of Le Grand Massif.

Travel
Geneva Airport - 1 hours drive. Car hire is available at the airport. Alternatives include taxi and bus. It is not essential to have a car whilst on a ski holiday in Morillon Les Esserts as all the facilities you need are on your doorstep. In Summer, a car is essential. The Channel Ports - 9 hours drive, all motorway except for the last 15 minutes.

Booking notes
A £200 booking deposit is payable to secure the rental week. In the unlikely event that the booking is cancelled, we will retain the full deposit unless we can re-book in which case we will return the full deposit minus any small, additional costs we incur. The balance is payable approximately 6 weeks before the holiday, plus an additional damages deposit of £100 for the big and mid-sized apartments and £75 for the little apartment. Again, this is non-refundable unless the apartment is rebooked.

About the owner
We are Anne-Marie and Graham Lush who have had an apartment in Morillon Les Esserts since 1987. This will be our 24th season! But only our fourth full one - before that we were limited to school holidays. Our children started skiing there aged 2 and 5. We are newly retired and sharing our time between the ski season in Les Esserts, sailing in Greece and going back home to be with our family, including our lovely grand daughters, Lily and Leila, both gorgeous!

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
The story of how we came to buy our first apartment is too long for this space! It involves a hired apartment the previous year, no one to meet us, a night in the car with small children, helpful people at an apartment builder's sales office (nothing to do with the people letting the apartment to us) getting the door broken into, a new lock fitted, having a lovely holiday despite the unpromising start, delivering chocolates to say thank you, picking up some sales literature out of politeness... then buying off plan from home... so that we would always have keys to get in! We didn't once, but that's another story! We and our family and friends love the Les Esserts ski resort, being able to ski to the door, and that it is small and friendly but part of the large Grand Massif ski area.

Unique benefits of the property
The best things about our apartments, apart from them being lovely! is that they are very conveniently located - next door to the little Sherpa supermarket, one of the ski hire shops and one of the restaurants. The other shops and restaurants are not much further away either, say 50 metres! It's a small, friendly resort - not for anyone who wants to go to noisy discos, clubs, etc...
