Property is part of a small lotissement of villas on the edge of a rural village. Nearest: general grocery, bakery, butcher, small supermarket 3 minutes drive, large supermarket 10 minutes. Sandy beaches 30 minutes, Carcassonne 1 hour. Numerous superb restaurants nearby. You can dine out for a month and not visit the same place twice!

Changeover day
Saturdays are changeover day. Depart by 11am, arrival after 4pm to give our cleaning staff time to prepare the property fully for you.

Notes on accommodation
Bought by owner post initial build and lovingly finished over a 12 month period internally and externally including installing pool and beautiful landscaped garden and hedging. A six month project saw the hand building in Indonesian hardwood of the unique raised platform decking, a highlight feature that links all outside doors together and creates an outdoor living area all of its own.

Accessibility
Property is ground level with ramp up to decking/entrance doors so may be suitable for some wheelchair users. However, WC is not large enough for a wheelchair.
Outside
Huge raised decking area surrounding three sides of the property ensuring a choice between plenty of sun or shade at all times of the day. Brick built BBQ. Sun loungers, Large parasol, dining table and chairs, free standing hammock. Private gardens. 11m private fenced pool, shallow (3 feet) and deep end (6 feet).
Coast/Beach
The Med is half an hour by car and the beaches are large sandy and popular with many to choose from. Some are naturist and these are well signed. Valras Plage is our favourite, a proper seaside resort that it's great to spend the day on the beach in and then return home for a cool dip in your own private pool amongst the vineyards. There are many others to choose from and the Northern Spanish beaches are within easy reach too.
Skiing
Andorra is 2-3 hours by car but its only winter snow!
Travel
Between Ryanair and Easyjet you are spoiled for choice with six nearby French airports and even one in Spain!
Carcassonne is the nearest at 45 mins distance by car. Perpignan is an hour away, Montpellier less than an hour and a half and Toulouse, Girona(Spain) and Nimes all less than 2 hours distance.
Ryanair have opened between Bristol and Beziers which is half an hour from us.
Distances
You are peacefully remote and yet surprisingly close to all the delights the region has to offer. Narbonne Bezier and Carcassone are easily reached in forty minutes. Barcelona is only 3 hours away by car (the Spanish border is one hour from the villa) Nice Cannes and the Cote D'Azur are a four hour drive, The beautiful city of Toulouse is just a two hour trip.
Further details
Two mountain bikes are provided at the villa and the trip to Aigues-Vives for hot fresh pain et croissants is a 3km flat early morning joy! Bring a small rucksack! You could easily get by using the local store in the same village but most people like to get to the larger supermarkets with a bigger choice. There are three within an easy drive between 10 - 15 mins and the giant superstores if you like that kind of thing are to be found half an hour away in Narbonne and Beziers, two gorgeous old cities. As it's our second year on the site we're very happy with the ten weeks that have been booked already for next summer and we're keen to let more. Check the site for availability. The dealings weve had with those who've booked so far for summer 2009 have been really encouraging with people being just the kind we know will look after the place and who will really appreciate it's terrific location climate and pool! To those who have not booked yet remember that June can be a really gorgeous month in this part of France and with the peak season weeks nearly all gone definitely worth a look! Happy holidays!
