The house is very large and can be rented with 5 bedrooms for up to 10 people plus room for 2 cots. If you do not want self catering we can offer B&B from only 50 euros per night per room, 75 euros per room when the swimming pool is in use. The 5 bedrooms are all well furnished with linen and towels supplied. Bed and breakfast rooms have their own washbasins and exclusive use of the the adjacent bathroom. The house built in 1694 is full of character and has no less than 4 large feature granite stone fireplaces with woodburners, exposed stone walls and original beams throughout. It has the added bonus of a 2nd living room on the 1st floor mezzanine - this can also be used as an extra bedroom if required or a relaxation room for all the family. There is a large indoor games room with a pool table, baby football, Playstation, TV and lots of games plus a small bar area. Great theme room for all the family. Available to bed and breakfast guests also.

Notes on prices
20% discount on basic price for couples from January - 1 May. The swimming pool is open from 1 May - 1 October. Games room open all year. Self catering - bed linen and towels are included in the price. Cleaning is available mid or end of stay for 60 euros. A discount of £100 is offered for 2 week stays and a further discount if you can bring your own linen. Long term lets are available from Oct to April at £350 for 4 - utility bills are additional.
Changeover day
Self catering changeover days in high season - July & August are Saturdays. Other months we are totally flexible. Bed and breakfast guests can choose any start or end date. No min night requirement. Check-in time is from 4.30pm and check-out 10.30am.

B&B - Farmhouse "La Chouette" sleeps 4

Bed and breakfast guests have a choice of a double bedroom or a twin room. Both have washbasins and exclusive use of the adjacent bathroom. At "La Chouette" you get more than just a bedroom! There is a mezzanine lounge with sofa, armchairs UK TV, DVDs and videos. The games room is also available with the pool table and baby foot, plus Playstation 1. Continental breakfast is served in the main dining room, tea and coffee making facilities are available in the bedroom or mezzanine lounge. Or you can opt for a 10% discount and just stay on a room only basis. There are facilities for making tea and coffee. The swimming pool is available from 1 May - 30 September and is heated to 28 degrees. It is fully fenced and safe. Pool towels are provided. The guests accommodation is separate from the owners so you have total privacy. There is no minimum night requirement. A travel cot is available at for use in either the twin room or the double please bring your linen for this. |

Notes on accommodation
For self catering guests the entire house is available, totally private and the owners do not live on site. The house is huge and ideal for a large group or 2 families sharing. We provide stair gates for the all staircases - there are 3 in the house. There are 2 lounges, a dining room, sun room, kitchen/diner, games room, bathroom and 2 shower rooms, plus washbasins in 2 bedrooms so you will never run out of space! We can supply a fixed cot, travel cot, 2 highchairs and a booster seat at no extra cost. We also have a baby bath and changing mat. The games room is ideal for adults and children with lots to occupy all ages. We provide books, magazines, board games, videos, DVDs and CDs for guests to use. The house has a private drive with safe parking for over 6 cars. The house is not overlooked by any other property or neighbours - just a few cows and horses in neighbouring fields.
Accessibility
For wheelchair users the downstairs twin room can be converted to a single and has easy access to the shower room opposite. The doorways are wide and easy to negotiate. Grab rails are not in situ in the shower room.
Outside
The swimming pool is available from May 1 - October 1 and is heated to 28 degrees. It is very safe for children and is fully fenced and lockable. It measures 8m by 4m and has 3 steps which lead into the pool. It then gently slopes to a depth of 6ft in the middle and has a safety ledge all the way round. Sun loungers with cushions, relaxers, garden tables, chairs, parasols and BBQ, are all provided and can be moved around the garden to suit. Outdoor games are available such as badminton, croquet, bats and balls, putting golf and swing ball.
Coast/Beach
The house is ideally situated for visiting the beaches of both Normandy and Brittany - all within 30 mins drive. Mont St Michel is only 30 mins away and it is possible to have a guided walk across the sands at low tide. Horse riding is available on the beach plus micro light aircraft rides, wind and para gliding in high season. The beaches are well maintained and very clean and often not crowded as there are so many to choose from. Favourites are - Carolles, St Jean Le Thomas, Dinard.
Golf
There are many golf courses about 1 hours drive at Dinard, St Malo, Granville plus others.
Special interest holidays
For 2008 we will be offering the use of bikes. 2 adult and a selection of childrens from age 3-10 available at no extra charge.
Travel
Dinard airport is only 1 hours drive about 70km with 2 daily flights per day and car hire. St Malo is 1 hours drive. Caen is 1-2 hours drive. Le Havre is 2-3 hours drive. Dieppe is 4 hours drive. Boulogne and Calais are 4-5 hours drive. A car is essential, though travelling distances to all shops and tourist sites are easy.
Distances
The local village of Le Ferre which has a restaurant/bar/tabac and boulangerie is only 2 km, 20 mins walk or 3 mins drive. The large town of St James is full of shops, bars, cafes, restaurants etc and is a 5 minute drive. It has 2 supermarkets open every day including Sunday.
Fougeres and Avranches are both medieval market towns with castles to visit plus lots of other facilities.
Further details
There are many places to visit from zoos, museums, WW2 landing beaches, war cemetaries all within easy driving distance. The beaches and coastline of Brittany and Normandy are within 30 mins drive.
Booking notes
A reservation can be held for 7 days. Self Catering. Bookings will be confirmed on receipt of a 25% deposit payable in GBP or Euros - Paypal also available. The balance is due 28 days before arrival. A £200 security deposit is required and held against damages, return of the key and additional cleaning if required.
