David and Caroline welcome you to stay at their delightful home, Le Sabatier. The house is set in one hectare of natural woodland and parterred garden above the old hamlet of Tornac, approx 2kms from Anduze. The house sits in superb, tranquil gardens with a magnificent swimming pool with views over the surrounding countryside. It offers excellent accommodation and is decorated and furnished to a high standard with every comfort imaginable. The property is set amongst vineyards and olive groves. The house is managed by an English speaking Manager who lives permanently in the next village: it has security shutters, locks and security lighting and gates.

Notes on accommodation
A haven for children (toddlers will need to be supervised) with table tennis, boules, sandpit and toddlers toys in the garden and a complete fantasy world for all. Dens can be made in the wood and maybe you will not see the parents at all.
Everything available for babies and children - highchairs, cot, sterilizing equipment, crib, playpen and lots of toys. We will provide everything that you want to make this a hassle free baby holiday..including nappies!

Outside
The house sits in one hectare (about 2½ acres) of natural woodland and superb, tranquil terraced gardens with magnificent views over the surrounding countryside. The fenced swimming pool is a must for all the family.Outside the house, new terraces have been formed - these are mainly lawns with many different fruit trees: figs, apricots, mulberries, plums, crab-apples, cherries, black-currants, vines. Chairs are provided around the swimming pool, which is enclosed with fencing and alarm in accordance with French Law. There are 5 parterres enjoying different vegetation with woodland of northern oaks which come up to the side of the house. A new 'Italian' garden has been formed in 2006. A childrens playarea with climbing frame at the bottom of the garden makes it a haven for all the family. We counted 23 species of butterfly during June/July: the nightingales will keep you awake in May!
Coast/Beach
Beaches are one hour from the house. The market town of Uzes with it's Roman arena and good shops are close by. The magnificent Cevennes hill, the spectacular gorges of the Ardeche, the sandy Mediterranean beaches, the Camargue, the Pont du Gard and major visitor centres such as Avignon and Arles.

Tornac is easily accessed from Paris and the UK via excellent air, road and rail links. Nīmes Airport: 50 mins by car, served by Ryanair (Luton, E. Midlands. Liverpool); Air France (Paris). Marseille airport: 1hr 45 mins by car, served by Easy Jet/BA
Carcassone airport: 2 hours by car, served by Ryanair (Stansted). Montpellier airport: 1hr 15mins by car, served by Ryanair (Stansted) Easy Jet By Train: Eurostar, Waterloo-Paris/Paris-Nīmes (3 hrs). By car: Calais-Nīmes: motorway via the A26, A5.
Distances
The property is set amongst vineyards, olive groves with fields of lavender and sunflowers all around. From Sabatier, walk for miles, past the monastery, by the river and into the hills, seeing nobody but the natural beauty and flora and fauna of the area: take a picnic and laze by the river with a good book from David's library. Tornac is situated a few kms from Anduze, the gateway to the Cévennes; this is a thriving town with restaurants, two supermarkets, cafes; market on Thursdays.

3 Km from the bustling market town of Anduze and near the thriving centre of Ales, Le Sabatier nestles in the foothills of the Cevennes in the small hamlet of Tornac with its medieval chateau within walking distance. The market town of Uzes with it's Roman arena and good shops are just half an hour away. The magnificent Cevennes hills, the spectacular gorges of the Ardeche, the sandy Mediterranean beaches, the Camargue, the Pont du Gard and major visitor centres such as Avignon, Orange and Montpellier are all within easy reach. The busy town of Anduze has shops and services to cater for your every need; many are open on Sunday morning. There are excellent restaurants and shops within 4 kms and markets within easy reach every day. We use Super U in Anduze for our shopping or Cora in Ales which is 15 minutes away. The Sunday flea market is a must in Anduze. A car is essential for staying at Le Sabatier.

Payment may be made in UK Pounds. 30% non-redundable deposit required with booking: final payment required 8 weeks before arrival plus 450 euros breakages deposit which should be made with final payment. You are allowed into the house after 4.30; please ring the house guardian 1 hour before your arrival date. Please book directly with the Nolders.
Guest comments
August 2008. We had briefly visited Anduze two years ago , when we stayed at another Nolder house in Aigremont, and were impressed with the area. As we had enjoyed the house in Aigremont, we booked Le Sabatier because it had a pool and was close to Anduze. At the start there were only 3 travelling, my wife and I, and our youngest daughter, however we gambled on offering our older kids a free holiday in France and it worked. In the end there were 8 people, our own kids, a son-in-law, and a boyfriend. Apart for my wife and I, all in late teens/early twenties.
The house was great, very comfortable, clean, well equiped, lots of room for 8 adults/adolescents, and everything worked just as you would expect and hope for. The pool was large enough for 8 to play, swim, and generally be boisterous, and the pool area was great for lounging around.
But the jewel in all of this was the garden and the location. The photos don't do it justice. Close enough to Anduze to nip down, by car or bike.
