Chalet in La Clusaz, Aravis Ski Area. 'Chalet Sophia' nestles at the bottom of the Cret du Loup (1864m). This is a traditional cosy Alpine chalet, which sleeps up to 14 guests in a combination of room sizes to suit your needs. The accommodation is on three levels with a bathroom and wc on each. The lower ground floor offers a twin bedroom and a bunk room with separate bathroom and wc. A laundry and freezer room is also located on this floor. There is one twin room on the ground floor with a separate bathroom and wc. The lounge (with open log fire place), dining room and kitchen are also situated on this floor. The kitchen is appointed to a high standard with dishwasher, full oven and microwave. The first floor offers three twin rooms two of which can be made into triple rooms with fold-out beds. The views are magnificent and are to be enjoyed whilst (winter only) you recline in the jacuzzi!

If smaller groups are going over the off peak periods I will always give discounts depending on group size.
Changeover day
In peak seasons changeover is on a Saturday but off peak it is flexible. Arrival time during the peak season is 4pm and departure is 10am.

Accessibility
The chalet is up narrow steps so accessibility is hard for wheelchairs. Once in the chalet however, the main floor has everything on it including 1 twin bedroom.
Outside
There is a large L shaped balcony with a gate that can be bolted to keep youngsters in. There is also a terrace for sunbathing on as well as a separate slightly raised terrace which the jacuzzi sits on.
Golf
There is a golf course up at Lac Du Confin (approx 4 miles from the chalet). There are also golf course further afield at Grand Bornard and beyond (approx 15 mins).
Skiing
La Clusaz is a fantastic ski resort having before won the best French ski resort for families. Our chalet in La Clusaz is within 5 minutes walking distance of a two man chair lift (Combe de Juments), which takes you to the Aiguille (2322m) and two cable cars which take you to Etale (2484m). All these lifts allow high altitude access to the skiing pistes in the winter and some superb walking and mountain bike trails in the summer. The Transval cable car provides access to Etale and the long green 'Envers' piste which takes you into La Clusaz town centre and to the Beauregard cable car (1690m). And if you don't want to ski down, the ski bus stops within a minutes walk and takes you into the town centre for the shops or lower slopes of La Clusaz, St Jean de Sixt or Le Grand Bornand.
Travel
The closest airport is Geneva and it takes approximately 1hr 15 mins to reach the chalet. Car hire is recommended and if hiring from the airport it is much better to hire from the Swiss side.
Distances
La Clusaz is approximately 30 km from Annecy, a beautiful town with a large lake, none to be the cleanest in Europe. It is a magnificent town with many historical features in the old part including the original prison which stands in the middle of the canal that runs through the centre of the old town.
