La Poussiere is found at the centre of the picturesque village of Orches. On the ground floor of this accommodation there is the bright kitchen/diner that has all the necessary amenities, a utility room, 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and a separate WC. The South facing veranda has great views of the surrounding countryside and cafe style seating to enjoy your breakfast etc is provided. On the upper floor there is an open plan lounge with original oak beams and dormer windows providing views of the surrounding countryside. Bedrooms 4 and 5 are found here along with another bathroom. The outside garden is fully enclosed with a large patio area and has plenty of garden furniture and a BBQ. The village is 15 minutes from Beaune and surrounded by beautiful countryside and historic villages. There are shops, restaurants and bars in the next villages and a bread/grocery van visits the village 3 times per week. The house is located on a quiet village road and has safe play areas.

Changeover day
The house is rented from Saturday to Saturday. Arrival times are after 4pm and departures before 10am.

Bedrooms: Bedroom 1 with double bedroom with direct access to the veranda.
Bedroom 2 with a double futon bed with child's bunk bed above and single bed.
Bedroom 3 has 1 king-size bed.
Bedroom 4 with king-size bed.

Bathrooms: The downstairs bathroom has a bath, separate shower, WC and wash basin. There is also a separate WC.
Upstairs the bathroom has a bath/shower, WC and basin.
Kitchen: The kitchen is fully equipped and includes an electric oven and gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, electric coffee maker, espresso machine, electric kettle, toaster and food processor.
Utility Room: The utility room has a washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge freezer and an iron and board.
Living Rooms: The dining room has a large oak table plus chairs, a highchair and a mini hi-fi. The lounge has 2 sofas, arm chairs, a recliner, satellite TV, DVD, video recorder and films are provided. There are books and games and a table football.
Other: A games room with a ping-pong table and dart board are found in one of the large barns attached to the house.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
All linen and towels are included. The cleaning of the house is the responsibility of the renters and should be left in a good state. The linen is changed at the end of each rental and any additional cleaning is done by the maid.

 

Notes on accommodation
A welcome pack comprising of a bottle of local wine, fresh bread and milk is left for all our visitors on arrival. There is ample parking. The house is centrally heated and extra heaters are provided. There are several electric fans for the summer months. The house has wi-fi access, which is included in the rental cost. The telephone is for the guests use and will not be charged for unless the costs exceed 10 euros. A maid service and/or babysitting can be arranged with the caretaker.

Outside
The garden has a large, grassed sloping area to the rear of the house. The French doors open onto a large hard-landscaped patio area, which is fully enclosed. There is a large teak garden table and chairs, 2 sun beds, various garden chairs and a BBQ.

Travel
A car is essential due to the elevation and location of the village. Car hire is available at the airports and in Beaune & Dijon. By air: Nearest international airports Paris CDG (335km), Lyon (156km), Geneva (231km). By road: Ferries and Euro tunnel Calais and Ferry Boulogne approx 600km - 5.5 hours drive. Orche is around 10 mins drive from nearest A6 Autoroute exit. By rail: TGV from Paris CDG Airport direct to Dijon, TGV from Paris Gare de Lyon direct to Beaune/Dijon.

Distances
The village is 15 mins from Beaune and surrounded by beautiful countryside and historic villages. Nolay and Meursault are the nearest villages with shops and are about 8 mins away. La Rochepot, 5 mins, has a castle open to the public. All the premiere crus vineyards and villages are very close to the house. Both Dijon and Chalon-sur-Soane are about 30 min away and Lyon just under 2 hours.

Further details
The house provides a perfect retreat for lovers of superb French wines and cuisine. There are shops, restaurants and bars in the next villages and a bread/grocery van visits the village 3 times per week and will stop outside the house. Small supermarkets, food shops, restaurants, banks/cash machines, markets and outdoor swimming are found in Nolay and Mersault. Beaune has large supermarkets, interesting shops and a vibrant market twice weekly plus an antique market. There is an indoor pool, boating lake and petting zoo here. The Hospice de Beaune, with its coloured tile roof, is a must for a visit. Chagny has a large market on Sunday mornings and several shops and restaurants. Hypermarkets can be found in Chalon-sur-Soane and Dijon and both have wonderful areas of historical interest, restaurants and shopping areas. The Beaune and Meursault Tourist Offices provide may wine and other leisure tours and the local wine producers are available for tasting. The famous Cote de Nuit is only a 30 min drive away. Horse riding can be found in the village, as well as Beaune and Morey St Denis. There is a quad biking enterprise in the village too. There are water sports available in Dijon, with sailing, jet skiing, windsurfing, kayaking and canoeing. Rock climbing is available in several locations locally.

Booking notes
Prices include gas, electricity, heating and linen. A 25% cancellation deposit is required to confirm a reservation and is non-refundable if cancellation takes place less than 6 weeks before the lease date Full payment is required 6 weeks before arrival. A damage deposit of £200 is required. Telephone charges and damages, if any, will be deducted from the deposit and the remainder returned within 4 weeks.

There were eight of us and this house was really comfortable for this many adults. Orche is a lovely village and we really enjoyed taking day trips in the area. The owners of the property were wonderful to deal with. They made us feel very welcome and were able to offer advice on any questions we had. We had a fantastic Christmas that all of us will never forget. And we would all love return to Orche again soon!
