Changeover day
We are pleased to offer a flexible length of stay. Rather than force you to book for 7 or 14 days, and travel on the most expensive days, we've decided to try a totally open changeover policy. Simply book the dates you require, and pay per night.

Wall heaters in all rooms. Children more than welcome, and the garden and grounds are very safe for them to play in.

No steps. All on one level. Suitable for wheelchair access.
Outside
Three quarters of an acre of safe gardens to relax and play in. Large decked area outside bedroom 1 and bedroom 2, featuring a table with canopy and 4 chairs. The bedrooms feature patio doors, so you can step straight out. Other outside furniture includes a further outdoor table and chairs for 8, and BBQ. Parking for many cars.
Coast/Beach
Landeleau is located in central Finistere, which makes exploring the whole of the region very easy. Many great beaches are available to the west and the south, taking around 35 minutes by car.
Golf
There are several beautiful golf courses, all within 1 hour's drive, including La Breteche, La Boule, Brest Iriouse.
Travel
40 minutes drive from Brest and Quimper airports. You can fly to Brest from Luton, Birmingham, Manchester, Southampton and Exeter. 90 minutes from Dinard airport. You can fly to Dinard from Stanstead, Bristol and East Midlands with Ryanair. By car ferry, Roscoff (from Plymouth and Cork) is just 1 hour away and St Malo (from Portsmouth and Poole) 2 hours drive. Discounts available for Brittany Ferries. Many of our guests also travel via the Eurotunnel. Perfect if you don't want to risk flying!
Distances
The towns of Carhaix and Chateauneuf du Faou are just 10 minutes drive. Huelgoat, with its beautiful lake and enchanting gorge filled with enormous boulders is 15 mins. The historic cathedral city of Quimper is 40 mins, as is the port town of Brest. The walled fort town of Concarneau is 45 mins. The amazing Trevarez castle, occupied by the Germans in WW2, with it's botanical gardens and stunning views over the Aulne valley, is less than 15 mins.
Further details
Landeleau is a typically quiet Breton village. It has a Patisserie for fresh bread and cakes, a village store, a butchers, post office, and 2 bars. One bar is a truly French Bar Tabac and the other is English run, and serves food. It's family friendly, with a 60's-80's music night once a week. Landeleau is set alongside the Nantes-Brest Canal, which is a beautiful walk or cycle ride. Also great for bird watching and fishing (fishing licences are available in the village). Just 10 mins walk from the house is a further restaurant/creperie on the canal bank. A choice of restaurants, plus supermarkets, shops and banks are available in Carhaix and Chateauneuf, along with Doctors and Vets. Carhaix also has a brand new swimming pool with water slide and jacuzzi, ten pin bowling, karting track and internet cafe. Market day is a Saturday. Horse riding and riding stables are close by. The villa has an extensive range of flyers, as well as tourist books, to suggest great days out, ensuring you get the most from your holiday. Although our villa is a quiet retreat, there is also plenty to keep adults and children of all ages occupied. A large range of leisure and entertainment facilities are provided at the property, including junior sized pool table, table tennis, table top football, air hockey, basketball, badminton, croquet, footballs, dartboard, children’s sand pit, plus a range of board games such as Trivial Pursuit and Scrabble, Chess, playing cards, and many more. 2 adult bicycles are available for your use, with 18 gears and front suspension, and a range of children's bikes to suit most ages. There is also a selection of young childrens toys. There is an extensive video library of blockbuster films and classic British TV. A wide range of CDs. Electronic safe. Cot available.

Hi! We're Gavin and Rachel Marshall. We live in Plymouth, have 2 children, and spend most of our holiday time in Brittany.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
8 years ago, Rachel's parents decided to sell their house in Plymouth (where we also live) to start a new life in France. They filled a van with their possessions, drove onto the Brittany Ferry, and a few hours later stayed the night with some friends in Landealeau. Their plan was to travel further down in France to start their new lives. However, they fell in love with where they were and never moved. 6 months later, we visited them, and loved it too. Landeleau is so Breton: completely natural and unspoilt. Since then, we've spent almost all our holiday time there. And with the help of our parents, who live in the same road, we bought the land, designed the house, and commissioned French builders to build our dreams.
Unique benefits of the property
I love that the location is completely peaceful. The thing I always notice is how silent it is, and when the sun goes down, there is no light pollution whatsoever. At night, you will see the stars clearer and brighter than I have ever seen. It's so clear, that you can see satellites and shooting stars moving across the sky. It feels Innocent and pure. Also, the fact that our Parents, who manage the property and do the changeovers, are literally just 2 minutes up the road, gives our guests a sense of comfort. They are available should you have any needs or questions, and of course, are English.
